Shirley L. Tanner, 93, of  Franciscan Manor, Beaver Falls, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning , February  8,  2017 at Franciscan Manor. She was born in Ellwood City  on October 25 1923 to the late  John Frederick  Rutter and  the late Margaret  Straley   Rutter. Shirley graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, and was a longtime active member of the First United Methodist Church in Ellwood City. Shirley cooked for the Wednesday Soup Luncheons at First Methodist  for many years, and made many apple dumplings for the First Methodist Church booth at the Ellwood City…

Mary  Shapiro, 88, of  Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on  Tuesday evening, February 7,  2017 in UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born in New Castle   on   May 23 1928  to the late Frank and  Julia Soup Kerestly. Mary  enjoyed  decorating, especially her home, and flower arranging. She enjoyed holiday get togethers, and  she especially  loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Gloria J. Selby, 65, of Chippewa passed away peacefully Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the Heritage Valley – Beaver Hospital following a short illness. Born August 6, 1951 in Washington, PA. She was married for 18 years to Richard E. Selby who survives. Gloria owned and operated Gloria’s Wallpaper and Painting Co. for many years. She had been formerly employed at the 19th Hole in Chippewa and Pier 19 in Bridgewater. Gloria was a member of the Lady’s Auxiliary in the Highland Vets. Elva J. Brown, 95, formerly of Castlewood passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 at The Grove At Harmony. Born April 28, 1921 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Alice Keller Vogler. She was married on December 3, 1945 to Curtis Glenn Brown who passed away June 5, 1989. Upon marrying Curtis, she became the mother of his four children that she loved and raised as her own. Elva was an active and faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church. Peggy E. Rychlicki, 83, of Main St., Wampum passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital in New Castle following a short illness. Born June 29, 1933 in Rush Twp., Center County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Corabelle Henderson Grinnen.
