Mrs. Betty Lou Sapp, 87, formerly of Ellwood City passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in the Golden Hills Nursing Home. Mrs. Sapp was born on June 30, 1929 in Fairmont, West Virginia to the late Earl and Elsie Compston Markley. She had worked at Airway Luggage, Morini’s Market in Koppel, and Sims Bowling Alley. Betty had also belonged to the Valley Baptist Church. She is a former member of the V.F.W., Saxons Club, and American Legion. She enjoyed working puzzles, reading, playing bingo, and gardening. Freda Mae Cooper Brenneman, 85, of Greenville, SC, formerly of Portersville, PA, strongly and confidently walked into heaven and was welcomed by her loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 17, 2016. Donald Lee “Gabby” Hays, 78, of Mottern Rd., Chicora (Oakland Twp.) passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the VA Medical Center in Oakland following a lengthy illness. Born October 13, 1938 in Donegal, Butler County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mabel Rodgers Hays. He was married for 59 years to Judy Mottern Hays who survives. Pamela R. Fatula, 61, of Ellwood City passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at her residence. Born March 26, 1955 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Lafe”Bud” and Joyce Gillespie Faurie. She was married for 40 years to James J. Fatula who survives. David K. Neff, 80, of Short St., Ellwood City passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Ellwood City Hospital. Born November 17, 1936 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Curtis E. and Anna J. Duvall Neff. David graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955. He then served in the Army from 1956 – 1957. Following his discharge, David worked for Ellwood Safety Appliance Company for 34 years, retiring in 1999. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pool.
