Joan C. Lees, 84, of Hermitage passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at Shenango on the Green in New Wilmington following a lengthy illness. She was born August 3, 1933 in New Castle, the daughter of the late John N. and Elizabeth Reno Cornelius. Joan graduated from New Castle High School and later from Grove City College. It was while attending Grove City that she met the love of her life, Robert E. Lees, to whom she was married for 61 years. He survives. Janey Swanik, 101, formerly of Wampum passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Wyngate Senior Living in Weirton, West Virginia. She was born on June 15, 1916 in Clarksburg, WV. She was one of twelve children born to her Spanish immigrant parents, Jesus and Dolores Artinez Gonzalez The family moved to Langeloth, PA when Janey was a child and she lived there until her marriage to Michael Swanik on July 29, 1937. Mrs. Lois Siovaila, 87, of Ellport departed for Heaven on Monday, May 14, 2018 at the UPMC Jameson Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Siovaila was born on April 12, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Peter P. and Pauline (Jurick) Schalois. Lois worked at Prince Beaterman Textile in Cleveland, the Ellwood City Knitting Mill, Romar Textile, and Dustproof. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. Theresa was retired from Ellwood City Hospital where she worked in food service for over 30 years. For 67 years she was the beloved wife of the late Paul “Arch” DeLoia.
