John Boariu Jr., 86, of Ellwood City passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Avalon Nursing Center following an extended illness. Born August 3, 1932 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late John and Eugenia Luca Boariu Sr.. He was married for 65 years to Yvonne Weller Boariu who survives. John graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950 and served in the Army during the Korean War. Joseph was born on April 19, 1957 in Ellwood City to the late Lawrence and Clara S. (Owoc) Lance. Mrs. Angeline M. “Angie” Varrato, 99, of Ellport passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the Ellwood City Medical Center. Mrs. Varrato was born on December 25, 1918 in Altoona, Pa to the late Antonio D. and Marie (Lombardi) Carmosino. She had graduated from the Altoona High School in 1938 and then from Mary Hammond’s Beauty School in Altoona.
