John Boariu Jr., 86, of Ellwood City passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Avalon Nursing Center following an extended illness. Born August 3, 1932 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late John and Eugenia Luca Boariu Sr.. He was married for 65 years to Yvonne Weller Boariu who survives. John graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950 and served in the Army during the Korean War. Joseph J. Lance, 61, of North Sewickley Twp. passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at his residence with his loving family at his bedside. Joseph was born on April 19, 1957 in Ellwood City to the late Lawrence and Clara S. (Owoc) Lance. He is a member of the Riverside High School class of 1975, and attended the Community College of Beaver County where he studied maintenance courses. Mrs. Varrato was born on December 25, 1918 in Altoona, Pa to the late Antonio D. and Marie (Lombardi) Carmosino. She had graduated from the Altoona High School in 1938 and then from Mary Hammond’s Beauty School in Altoona. Karen was born on March 31, 1947 in Ellwood City to the late Donald Smith, and Mary McDowell (Smith) Wilson of Ellwood City. For many years Karen worked at Romar Textile in Ellport. Robert   A.  Doughty, 88,  of  Ellwood City,  passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, October 2 2018 at the Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle.
