Mr. George R. Garda, 79, formerly of Ellwood City and presently of Mars, Pa passed away on Monday, November, 28th, 2022. Mr. Garda was born in Ellwood City on July 27th, 1943 son of the late George and Flora (Paglia) Garda. He is a member of the Lincoln High School Class of 1961 and had played center on the football team. Catherine was born on May 28th, 1925 in West Bridgewater, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Catherine “Katy” (Pavlinich) Brozich. She graduated from Beaver High School with the class of 1943. She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Church, Divine Grace Parish. Ms. Vicki Lynn Gerard, 65, of Ellwood City passed away on Monday, November 28th, 2022 at The Grove in New Castle. Vicki was born on September 17th, 1957 in Ellwood City to the late Joseph C. and Martha Ann (Havern) Gerard. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1976. Vicki worked at Christy’s Family Restaurant for years as a waitress, and then worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant at the Passavant nursing home in Zelienople for 15 years. Mrs. Karen S. Knechtel, 63, of Wampum passed away on Friday, November 25th, 2022 at her family homestead, following a long battle with muscular sclerosis. Karen was born on November 23rd, 1959 in Beaver County to the late Samuel R. and Mary R. (Sedgwick) Heaton Sr. She graduated from Beaver Falls with the class of 1977. Nicholas Anthony Frisk Jr., 81, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2022 at his residence while in his wife’s arms. Born on August 23rd, 1941, in Ellwood City. Nick was the son of late Nicholas Anthony Frisk Sr. and Clara Rose Frisk of Ellwood City. After setting numerous records as a half back for the Lincoln High Wolverines, Nick went on to play football at Baldwin Wallace University on a scholarship, where he earned a degree in history and political science.
