Ellwood City Softball Splits With Keystone Oaks & Union Over The Weekend

The Lincoln High School softball team took advantage of terrific weekend weather and played two games. They lost to Keystone Oaks on Friday and bounced back with a win against Union on Saturday. Proclamation Presented To WPIAL Champion Boys Basketball Team

Mayor Anthony J. Court presented a proclamation to the Ellwood City Wolverines basketball team this week. The team captured the school’s first WPIAL Championship in the school’s history in March with its victory over South Allegheny. Ellwood City Sweeps Lions; Panthers Baseball Rally Falls Short; RHS Softball Defeated

Ellwood City Wolverines Takes 5-3 Victory Over New Brighton Ellwood City completed a back-to-back sweep over New Brighton, defeated the Lions on Wednesday, 5-3 New Brighton took an early lead in the second inning when Seth Tanaka singled on a 3-2 count, scoring a run to push the visiting Lions lead to 2-1 but Ellwood was able to rebound. Panthers, Wolverines Baseball Teams Both Victorious

Both the Riverside Panthers and Ellwood City Wolverines collected victories Tuesday afternoon. Wolverines Claim Lead In Extra Inning To Defeat New Brighton Ellwood City snatched the lead late in the game in an 11-4 victory over New Brighton on Tuesday. The game was tied at four after seven innings before the Wolverines exploded for seven runs in the eighth inning. Riverside Wins Wild 15-13 Slugfest Over Ellwood City

In a rivalry game that saw two wild rallies and 30 combined hits, the Riverside Panthers responded last in its 15-13 road victory over Ellwood City on Saturday. The Riverside Panthers softball team will be welcomed with an onslaught of younger, talented players this year according to head coach Gerilynn Cummings. The wind was blowing out at Mohawk High School Tuesday afternoon as the Ellwood City girls softball team blasted three home runs in its 22-10 slugfest victory over Mohawk. Ellwood City Tennis will feature many new players this year and will be developing according to head coach John DiBuono. “We are rebuilding this year,” said DiBuono. “We have a good group of boys this season that are willing to learn the game of tennis.
