PUBLIC INTOXICATION On Tuesday, July 7 at 1:08 AM, ECPD reported to Hazel Manor for a disturbance in the parking lot. When they arrived, they made contact with a visibly intoxicated Jerrin Brandon, 30, of Fombell, outside the front door of the bar. Local Man Charged for making Terroristic Threats to ex-girlfriend 22-year-old Michael Sopo of Harrisville, Pennsylvania is being charged with multiple forms of assault and harassment after his ex-girlfriend called and reported him for an altercation on Wednesday, June 17. Pennsylvania State Police responded to a report by a female that had been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, Sopo. PHOTO: Two-Vehicle Crash On Portersville Road

A two-vehicle crash sent one person to the hospital early Thursday morning. The crash happened on Portersville Road (Route 488) at the intersection with Wurtemburg Road. According to reports, one person was taken to the hospital and a second person refused medical treatment. State police are investigating the cause of the crash. The roadway was blocked off before Hickernell Road while crews attended to the scene. According to a press release made available by United States Attorney Scott W. Brady on Thursday, 47-year-old Michael Turner, of Wampum, PA, is among twelve defendants who have been charged with drug trafficking following a months-long wiretap investigation into narcotics trafficking in the City of Pittsburgh and greater Allegheny County region. This Indictment is related to a larger investigation into the narcotics trafficking activities of the “11 Hunnit” neighborhood street gang operating in the Hill District neighborhood of Pittsburgh and beyond. FATHER AND SON CHARGED Sunday, May 31, James Taylor Sr. & Jr. of Bridge Street, were both charged after Taylor Jr., 22, attempted to run from an Ellwood City Police Officer after the officer attempted to do a traffic stop. Buckle Up PA “Click It Or Ticket” Action Plan Enforced Through June 7

A Buckle Up PA ‘Click It or Ticket’ action plan was announced this week with enforcement running from May 18 through June 7, 2020. According to a press release, the mobilization will focus 50% of their enforcement funding on seat belt enforcement on unbelted crash roadways. Buckle Up PA (BUPA) will fund up to 350 LEAs for the 3-week mobilization. The plan is designed to increase Pennsylvania’s seat belt usage rate by optimizing the use of grant funds, focus enforcement and to increase the number of OP citations issued. POLICE: Overnight Stabbing Will Lead To Arrest Warrants

An overnight altercation sent one person to the hospital after a stabbing at a residence on Hillside Avenue in Ellwood City on Saturday, April 25. According to an Ellwood City Police report, at approximately 1:30 a.m. a known suspect assaulted a victim with a knife after becoming involved in an altercation at the Beaver County residence. The altercation involved a female, ex-boyfriend, boyfriend, friend of the ex-boyfriend, and another individual related to the female who intervened in altercation or were directly involved in altercation. State Police Releases Non-Life-Sustaining Businesses Enforcement Totals

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania State Police released data on actions taken against non-life-sustaining businesses that failed to comply with Governor Tom Wolf’s order closing their physical locations. Enforcement began on Monday, March 23, 2020. On Thursday, Pennsylvania State Police issued a total of 21 warnings, bringing their week total to 78 warnings.  No citations have been reported. A total of four warnings have been reported in the troop coverage area that includes Ellwood City.  The coverage area consists of Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, and Mercer counties.
