Corona D’Italia Lodge November Meeting

Corona D’Italia Lodge #807, held their monthly business meeting on Wednesday November 9 at 5p.m. at Pizza Joe’s. The session began with a Pizza luncheon hosted by President, Clemmy Sirismarco, and served by Sentienel, Lois DiFrischia, Mary Jane Folino, Christine Butchelli, and Lee Ann Houk. The business session began with financial reports provided by treasurer, Louise Vitullo. She displayed the 2017 membership card that each member will receive upon payment of their 2017 dues. Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: Monday, November 21, at 1:30 p.m. – Afternoon Book Discussion Group for Adults. Wampum Readies for the Holidays

Starting December 1st, Wampum is the place to be for Christmas ambiance. An old fashioned celebration, Wampum ‘Light Up the Town’ takes place on Thursday December 1st followed 2 days later by the traditional Wampum Christmas Parade. Winners of the 2016 Costume Contest Receive Prize

Class of 1954 October Meeting

Pudue LaCava hosted the Lincoln High Class of 1954 “Nite at the Movies” committee at her Mt. Vernon Drive home on Thursday, October 20, at 4p.m. The session began with lunch provided by Ann Amadio, Paul Abraham, Arlene “Pinky” Maielli, James Gillespie, Clemmy Sirimarco, Ilene Gardner, and LaCava. A pumpkin dessert celebrated the upcoming Halloween, and serving was done by Gardner and LaCava. Abraham conducted the business session that followed. He confirmed the site arrangement for the July 15 event. Gillespie reported on fund raising and distributed tickets for October. November tickets will be available from any committee member. Police Reports: Man Stabbed at Local Bar

Man Stabbed at Local Bar According to the police report on Nov. 11, two brothers, Zachary and Joseph Pounds, ages 20 and 23, of Ellwood, caused a disturbance at Weisz’s Hazel Manor Bar on North St. The report states the brothers were in the dining room area of the bar ordering food when the younger brother, Zachary, got up and walked around the bar yelling profound and racist obscenities at a man before taking a beer bottle and hitting the unsuspecting individual over the head. Animal Rights Supporters Urge Action on Bizzarro Bill

HARRISBURG, Nov. 14  – State Rep. Ryan Bizzarro, D-Erie, said he was delighted that animal rights supporters from across Pennsylvania held a rally at the state Capitol today urging passage of his legislation that would include stricter penalties and requirements so animals are not returned to their abusers. Also included in Bizzarro’s bill is anti-tethering provisions and language to protect horses. The bill remains in the Rules Committee awaiting a House vote. Painting Class at Lincoln High

A public painting class will be held at Lincoln High School in Room T on November 20 from 1-5p.m. Ages 14+ are encouraged to attend, the cost is $50.00 per person which includes a lesson, paint, brushes, and a canvas. No experience necessary.

Crime Watch Meeting

Mayor Court will host the next Crime Watch meeting, scheduled to be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 6:30p.m. in Council Chambers. Feature speaker will be Becky Pelloni Marshall. November Council Meeting Brief

Yesterday evening held the first of two monthly reoccurring council meetings; the first one is for the council committee to discuss what will be voted on at the next meeting.
