HARRISBURG – Yesterday Gov. Tom Wolf and a Boston Terrier named Libre, signed the Libre’s Law Bill – strengthening Pennsylvania’s laws and punishments against animal abuse and neglect. Next to Wolf’s signature lies a tiny paw print belonging to a once neglected Boston Terrier, Libre, named by his rescuer meaning “freedom” in Spanish. Register for the Children’s Art Camp

Day Springs is now accepting registration for their children’s art camp. The program will be working with ages 7-9 and held on Monday, July 24 to Thursday July 27 from 10a.m. to 11:45a.m. Each day the children will see a short video of artist who highly impacted art as we know it, followed by projects done with graphite, pastel, crayon and colored pencil. HARRISBURG – The House of Representatives today unanimously approved legislation, authored by Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence), which would ensure Pennsylvanians receiving mental health care have legal protection from those seeking to do them harm. “Mental health issues can impact anyone, at any time, and without this safeguard on our books, we would be failing to protect a lot of our citizens from potential abuse and neglect. Ellwood City Man Facing Attempted Homicide Charge According to the criminal complaint, on June 17, 2017 officers arrived to a residence on Portersville Road for a report of a domestic dispute. The victim advised that her fiancee, whom she lives with, Raemond Albert Wright, 34, of Ellwood City, had assaulted her during a verbal argument. Senator Vogel Continues Push for Telemedicine Initiatives in Pennsylvania

Technology can help overcome the barriers to quality patient care created by distance and reduce the costs of those services, according to Senator Elder Vogel (R-Beaver), the author of legislation aimed at promoting telemedicine in Pennsylvania. Since 1981, thousands of community members have been celebrating the Ellwood City Arts and Crafts Festival – and the 2017 festival is expected to be just as successful.
