Thomas W. Keane Sr., 85

Thomas W. Keane Sr., 85, of Ellwood City passed away Sunday, July 19, 2026 at Edison Manor following a brief illness.

Born March 13, 1941 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late John and Ruth Ada Marion Keane. He married Carolyn J. Sobeski Keane on August 12, 1967. They shared 55 years of marriage until her passing on June 1, 2023.

Thomas proudly served in the U.S. Army and the Military Police. A talented draftsman, he worked first at Herr-Voss and then at Thermo Fisher before retiring in 2015. He was a member of Divine Grace Parish in Ellwood City and the former St. Agatha Church, where he served as a cantor for many weddings.

He was a skilled handyman and enjoyed woodworking and metalworking. In his younger years, he was an Eagle Scout and lifeguard. Thomas was an avid sports fan who loved watching golf, Pittsburgh sports, and Notre Dame. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas W. Keane, Jr. of Pittsburgh and Andy R. Keane of Ellwood City; granddaughter, Piper Marie Keane; grandson, Duncan Joseph Keane; sister, Diane (Albert) Morini of Ellwood City; brother, Dennis (Kathy) Keane of New Castle, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Phillip, and Edward Keane.

Friends and family will be received Wednesday July 22, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10 am at Divine Grace Parish Ellwood City. Entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Mausoleum.
