Lawrence County Kids Car Show April 29th

The Lawrence County Car Show is a family friendly event featuring cars, face painting and music. The month of April is know as Child Abuse Prevention Month and this event would like to shed light and bring awareness to child abuse, their community and appreciation for our countries resource families. Ellwood City Narcotics Complaint Leads to One Arrested and One at Large

James Hammond Jr., 23, 413 8th St. was charged with manufacturing, delivery or possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at the intersection of College St. and Wampum Ave. According to a police report, Hammond was pulled over on a bench warrant by Ellwood City Police. Suspected Drug Operation Leads to Ellport Mans Arrest

ELLPORT- Christopher M. Rusnock, 33, of 113 Duncan Ave., is charged with three counts of manufacturing, delivery or possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of children, after wife files a protection abuse order against him. Ellwood City Area Historical Society Membership Meeting

The Ellwood City area Historical Society met for their monthly membership meeting on April 9. Thirty-five people attended and door prizes were won by four. Everett Bleakney welcomed everyone to the meeting and The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Jim Houk. Everett asked for a moment of silence for three Society members who had passed away since the March meeting; Sam Mullin, Lois Richards and Carl Sammons. Ellwood City Residents Pay $10 Per Capita, Per Year

Ellwood City Tax Collector, Mary Ann Portugallo informs the community that Ellwood City residents pay $10 a year per capita if you are 18 years or older, with a few exceptions. Residents of Ellwood who are 18 years and older, but are actively enrolled as a student in high school or college do not have to pay. Residents in Ellwood residing in a nursing home also do not have to pay. If people fall outside of these two categories there will be a $10 yearly fee administered per person. Lillyville Church of God Clothing Closet

Lillyville Church of God has a clothing closet that provides free clothing and shoes to individuals and families experiencing hardships in Franklin Township and the surrounding areas. The next clothing closet date is April 23 5:30pm to 7pm. There will be spring and summer clothes available. Selections will be limited, but shopping bags will be provided. Lillyville Church of God is located on 408 Hickernell Rd. The next clothing closet will be on August 13, fall clothing will be available.
