Beaver County Man Admits Lying on Firearms Purchase Forms

PITTSBURGH, PA – A resident of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, has pled guilty to a charge of making a false statement to purchase firearms, Acting United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman announced this last week. Calvin Brady Jr, age 24, plead guilty before Judge David S. Cercone on July 29, 2021. In connection with the guilty plea, the court was advised that on December 12, 2020, the Brady Jr. purchased four Taurus, model GC3, 9mm caliber pistols from Rural King Holdings LLP, a federal firearm licensee in Monaca, PA. Riverside Claims 70th Ellwood City Little League Tournament

AND THE CHAMPION IS…Riverside downed Ellwood City 3-1 to win the 70th Ellwood City Little League Tournament Sunday night at Freidhoff Field. Dylan Meyer led Riverside to victory with a home run and two RBI’s. This victory gave Riverside their fifth title in the tournament and their first since 2012. Riverside scored two runs in the top of the first inning to take the early lead. With one out, Matthew Santillo singled and moved to second base on a wild pitch. Riverside Lions Help Fix Up Franklin Park

Some members of the Riverside Lions and community volunteers painted the tables at Franklin Park on Monday. Joan Bowser, Jim and Gigi Davies, and Dana Baker, cleaned, scrapped and painted the picnic tables at Franklin Park, Monday July 19th. The Lions provided the paint through a donation from Lenore Bazzichi. Lions members Chip Campbell and Mike Milnes also helped in the project. New Lion member Amy Alexander was also instrumental in the project. The Lions maintain shelters at both Franklin Park and Bradshaw Park in North Sewickley Township. Ellwood City Champion Returns to Basketball Court As Head Coach

Dena Noble has never been able to forget the feeling of being on a winning team. That adrenaline rush of hitting the basketball court is still a draw for Noble, who was recently named head coach of the Lincoln Girls Basketball Team. Carpenter’s Project Wraps Up Successful Week

RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT: New Castle Police had responded to Reckless Endangerment report near Pollock Store Road in Lawrence County on July 25th. Christopher Rodgers, age 40 from Volant fired two rounds from a shotgun at the victim’s residence. Rodgers has been continually creating loud noises and firing fireworks causing a disturbance in the area. The Pennsylvania State Police New Castle Barracks had been called to the area approximately four times within the last ten days and the actor was for summary disorderly conduct and harassment on July 24th for causing loud noises and a disturbance. Franklin Township To Host 8th Annual National Night Out Event

Come on down! Franklin Township will be holding their 8th Annual National Night Out Event on Tuesday, August 3rd, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Franklin Plaza in Ellwood City.
