Borough of Ellwood City Christmas Tree Disposal Available

Taking down the Christmas tree is only one task after the holiday season. For families with real trees, figuring out what to do with them may be a whole other task. According to information made available by the Borough of Ellwood City, residents may drop off live Christmas trees at Stiefel Park, just inside the park entrance from Brighton Road, now through January 31, 2026. Residents who drop off trees are reminded that they must remove all decorations and stands from the trees prior to the drop-off. Please only drop off live trees, NO artificial trees will be accepted! Ellwood City Library Hosting CPR Training Class on Thursday

The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities and this week include a CPR training class on Thursday beginning at 5:30 p.m. Anita Yoder will conduct training for residents for free. No sign up necessary. Energy Exec Gives Alma Mater BC3 $100K, Creating 125 Scholarships

(Butler, PA) A 1972 graduate of Butler County Community College who founded an oil and gas exploration company has contributed $100,000 to the BC3 Education Foundation with an unprecedented request that it be disbursed in one academic year through his creation of 125 scholarships ranging in amount from $500 to $2,000. “That’s the way I wanted it to work, and I am happy with that,” said Gary Griwatz, of Cranberry Township and of Tampa, Fla. Ellwood City Area Students Announced On CCBC President’s & Dean’s List for Fall 2025 Semester

(Monaca) – Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) is proud to release 22 names of full-time and part-time Ellwood City area students who achieved either President’s List or Dean’s List honors for the fall 2025 semester. Local State Lawmakers Announce $4.6 Million in State Funding for 22 Beaver County Projects

Darlington Township, Franklin Township and North Sewickley Township were among those awarded over $4.6 million in state grant funding focused on improving municipal infrastructure and public safety according to Sen. Elder Vogel, Jr. (R-47) and Reps. Roman Kozak (R-14), Josh Kail (R-15) and Robert Matzie (D-16). The funding was administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority. Darlington Township will look to receive two new police vehicles, Franklin Township will acquire 392 acres of the Hereford Manor Lakes property ensuring the cherished property remains a protected green space for future generations to enjoy, and North Sewickley Township will replace the flat roof…
