ECPD Issues Community Assistance Request Regarding Attempt Vehicle Break-Ins

In a social media post Monday evening, the Ellwood City Police Department issued a community assistance request in regards to a string of attempted vehicle thefts and vehicle break-ins. The full Facebook.com post relates: The Ellwood City Police Department is investigating multiple attempted vehicle thefts/vehicle break-ins that occurred overnight in the area of 300 and 400 block of Ninth Street and the 1200 block of Crescent Avenue. At this time, Kia vehicles and similar makes/models appear to have been specifically targeted. Residents in these areas are asked to review any home security camera, doorbell camera, or surveillance footage from overnight…

Mayor Court Announces 1st 2026 Beautification Award Winner

Mayor Anthony J. Court presented the first Beautification Award of 2026 to Carol and Rick Pitrelli of 1029 Sunset Boulevard. “Their well-maintained landscaping adds beauty to the neighborhood and showcases their strong community pride,” said Mayor Court in a statement. In recognition of their efforts, they received a yard sign and a gift certificate to local restaurant. “Congratulations to the Pitrelli’s on this well-earned honor,” adds Court. ECASD Board of Directors Table Vote on Budget; Pass Tax Increase

Although the Ellwood City Area School District’s Board of Directors voted unanimously (with Director Jennifer Tomon absent) to table a motion to approve the General Fund Budget (view it here) for the 2026-27 fiscal year in the amount of $36,941,103.00, they did approve a tax increase. The tables were packed and the plates full as the Rotary Club of Ellwood City celebrated award winning students at their annual Scholarship Dinner. Students from the Ellwood City Area and Riverside School Districts and their parents were in attendance on Thursday May 21st. In addition to the Club’s scholarships, 2 additional memorial Trade School Scholarships were awarded in memory of Conner Lutz, who would have graduated this year. Riverside Class Of 2026 Commencement Is Friday

Congratulations to the Class of 2026. Commencement for the Riverside Beaver County High School Class of 2026 will be held Friday, June 5th, at 6:00 p.m. at the high school football stadium (Memorial Field). Seating on the day of graduation is first come, first served, and no tickets are required. Gates will open at 5:15 p.m. Handicapped seating and parking will be available on the home side bleachers.
