LHS Class of ’54 Holds “Make-Up” Reunions

The Lincoln High School Class of 1954 held a “66th, 67th and 68th COVIDs Make-Up Reunions” earlier this month. The class got together on Friday, July 1st at Smokin’ Dave’s BBQ according to Clemmy Sirimarco. John and Pat Tino, Ilene Gardner and Pudue LaCava led a meet and greet at 11:30 a.m. as attendees entered the reunion. LaCava presented each with a name tag and Gardner photographed each class member and their guest. The 4th beautification award was presented by Mayor Anthony Court to Eileen McKelvey of 227 Crescent Avenue. “Congratulations, Eileen! You did a great job! Senate Passes 2022-23 State Budget that Cuts Taxes, Funds Essential Services

HARRISBURG – The Senate approved a $45.2 billion General Fund Budget for Fiscal Year 2022-23 that meets the needs of Pennsylvanians today without creating multi-billion-dollar budget deficits in the future, according to Sen. Elder Vogel (R-47), who voted for the measure. Senate Bill 1100 now goes to the governor’s desk for enactment into law. The $45.2 billion budget, which also includes federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, represents a 2.9% increase over the previous year’s spending – and $500 million less than Gov. HHSDR Provides Helling Stadium Update, Presents Proposal for Perry Lower Renovations

Representatives from HHSDR Architects/Engineers announced during Thursday night’s Ellwood City Area School District’s Board of Directors meeting that construction is on track at Helling Stadium for the proposed September 28 completion date. They said that all the “in the mud” type work is finished. They expect the turf work to begin after Aug 8, which is the expected arrival date of the materials. Approximately 250 Columbia Gas Customers Are Experiencing Natural Gas Outage

According to an alert from Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania made available to the borough, approximately 250 customers are experiencing a natural gas outage in the Ellwood City area as of Thursday afternoon. The outage affects customers on Aetna Drive, Argonne Boulevard, Cavalier Court, Crabapple Lane, Crestview Drive, Dover Lane, June Lee Street, Meadowridge Drive, Peach Street, Plymouth Lane, Sewall Court, Skyline Drive, Sunset Boulevard, and Walnut Drive. Columbia Gas technicians are on site, and repairs are underway. Local Churches History Slated As New Historical Society Project

Andrew Kindle, Historical Society First Vice President, was appointed by President Everett Bleakney to head up the latest society project – Local Churches History. The project will collect information from churches that are in our collection zone of about a ten mile radius.
