CDC Lifts Mandate For Masking On School Transportation

Effective Friday, February 25, 2022, the CDC announced it does not require wearing of masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/child care programs. Meals On Wheels Receives Donation From Ellwood City Wolves Club

On Wednesday, February 23, the Ellwood City Wolves Club presented a donation to the Ellwood City Meals on Wheels Program Director Terri Crespo. Terri presented the history of the program which started in at the Calvin United Presbyterian Church. It moved to the Ellwood City Hospital. When the Ellwood City Hospital closed the Calvin United Presbyterian Church again agreed to host the program. The program serves 80 people in the greater Ellwood City area. Ellwood City Area School District to Stage Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Next up on stage at Lincoln High School is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is a musical based on the 1971 American musical fantasy film starring Gene Wilder. It is an adaptation of the 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. The film tells the story of a poor child named Charlie Bucket who, after finding a Golden Ticket in a chocolate bar, visits Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory along with four other children, Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Veruca Salt and Mike Teavee. Riverside Lions Donate Candy, Aid In Tornado Relief Efforts In Kentucky

The Riverside Lions recently got involved in two noteworthy causes. The club got to help distribute a large amount of donated leftover Christmas candy, cookies and bake goods to six different organizations. “We were able to give to Riverside Angel Fund, Ellwood City School District, Beaver Falls School District, Central Valley School District, Holy Redeemer Social Services and the Portersville Food Bank,” says King Lion Chip Campbell. Riverside Lions Club Celebrates 60th Anniversary

The Riverside Lions Club celebrated its 60th Anniversary at the meeting held earlier this month on Wednesday, February 9th. The meeting was attended by 2nd VDG Maria Loudermilk, and Pam Flara, both members of the Riverside/Hopewell Branch Club. Council Approves New Server for Police Department

Ellwood City Borough Council approved the quote for a Microsoft SQL Server (license & software) for the police department. The $7,254.74 quote approval will allow the police department to upgrade their server, which houses vital information regarding arrests, etc. According to Officer Josh Sipe, the current server dates to 2013. He said it is slow and poses an issue when it comes to safely storing important information that is required by the state.
