BC3 Announces President’s List, Dean’s List and Spring 2018 Graduates

Butler County Community College is proud to announce the names of those students who have made the President’s List and Dean’s List for the spring 2018 semester, as well as recent graduates. Students who have achieved a cumulative GPA (grade point average) of 3.75 or higher are named to the President’s List following completion of at least 12 semester hours or upon completion of degree requirements. BC3 Offers NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Courses This Summer

Riverside High School has 102 seniors graduating in the class of 2018. There are five students who have received high honors. The top five students are listed in alphabetical order below: Jenna R. Hart, daughter of Randy and Diane Hart, played on Riverside’s varsity soccer and track teams throughout high school and was captain of the soccer team. Caller ID spoofing and scam phone calls are at an all-time high and these calls are impacting many Ellwood City residents. Ellwood City Police Department received a call from Beverly Hazen about a possible scam phone call she received. Hazen received a call from a man pretending to be her grandson. The man stated he had been arrested in Philadelphia for a DUI. The man wanted Hazen to send money to bail him out of jail. She felt odd about the situation and hung up on the man. Ellwood City Native Takes on Independent Electric Utilization Study

Liz Prence, a native of Ellwood City is doing an independent study to help people find the reason for their high electric utilization. Prence has over 35 years experience in data analysis and quality control, she has a Bachelors in biochemistry and is currently chief quality officer for Healthmap Solutions. The study will help provide information and effective solutions to people who have excessively high electric bills by determining the cause of the discrepancies seen among electric customers. “We are all charged the same rate per KWH, yet many residents don’t have high electric bills (me, for example),” Prence said….
