The Ellwood-Wampum Rod and Gun Club in Wayne Township held a turkey shoot on Tuesday, September 4. The turkey shoot winners were Tom O’Brien, Paul H. Redmond, Larry Baker, and Aaron Kelly. Kelly was a double winner, and Jim Spielvogel won the door prize. Due to Tuesday turkey shoots, trap shoots have been moved to Thursdays. Sign-ups for both trap and turkey shoots begin at 6 p.m. Trap shoot participants should bring extra protection as well as a box of 25 count shells and $3 for each round they plan on shooting in. Local Church To Host A Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

Members of North Sewickley Presbyterian Church will be serving up a spaghetti dinner as a fundraiser on Saturday September 22 beginning at 4:30 p.m. The menu is spaghetti and meatballs; garlic bread; salad with dressing; dessert, and drinks for adults and children. The cost for this meal is $8.00 for adults (13 & up), $4.00 for children (4 – 12) and children under 4 free. The Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Chef, Wine & Ale event Monday evening at Shakespeare’s Restaurant in Ellwood City.  The upscale chamber event, which is open to the public, featured fine wines, craft ales, and delectable foods from a variety of local eateries. There was a silent auction and Chinese Auction. REMINDER: Ellwood City Announces “Door to Door Clean Up” Program

Ellwood City Council has approved Valley Waste Service to provide “Door to Door Clean Up” in 2018 for their residents. The total cost of this service, as previously quoted, is $37,950.00. The program will begin on Saturday, September 15, and will run for five consecutive Saturdays concluding on October 13. The “Clean Up Schedule” will be as follows: All Clean Up items must be placed where you normally place your yellow bags for regular trash pickup. Club Hope Foundation Sells Pink Out Challenge Shirts for Ellwood vs. Riverside Football

The Club Hope Foundation is selling Pink Out T-Shirts for $10 to be worn for the football games during October. Club Hope is doing a Football Challenge at the Ellwood vs. Riverside game on October 12. A teacher from each school will go on the field at halftime and throw mini-footballs into a garbage can. The teacher that loses has to wear a t-shirt from the other school for the remainder of the game. BC3’s new quality inspector certificate program to equip workers, aid manufacturers

(Butler, PA) Butler County Community College this month will debut a quality inspector certificate program designed to help students develop unique skills, and their companies to build reputations and profits in a competitive global economy, according to a consulting firm executive who created the curriculum.
