Christ Presbyterian Celebrating Its 40th Boar’s Head Festival

Christ Presbyterian Church in Ellwood City is celebrating its 40th year of the “Boar’s Head Festival”. Presented at least as early as 1346 in Oxford, England, the Boar’s Head, and yule log ceremony is probably the oldest continuous festival of the Christmas season. The one-hour presentation celebrates the birth of Christ and features music conducted by Dan Forsberg, and accompanied by the Ellwood City Civic Chorale and organist David DeCaria. Members of the cast, chorus and orchestra are from all over the local region including Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, and Mercer counties. You are invited to join in the festival celebration….

Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities For Week of November 4

The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities.  Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. Activities taking place this week include TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. – “Family Laptime,” designed for babies as young as 6 months of age, toddlers, and preschoolers. Ellwood City And Surrounding Areas Trick Or Treat Rescheduled

Due to weather forecasts, Ellwood City and many surrounding areas Trick Or Treat dates have been rescheduled to Saturday. According to a release from the Office of the Mayor: Based on the current weather forecast for the scheduled trick-or-treat on Thursday night, I am rescheduling the Borough of Ellwood City Trick Or Treat For Saturday, November 2, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Ellport Borough, Franklin Township, North Sewickley Township, Perry Township, and Wayne Township have all also formally submitted notices as to their date/time changes. First United Methodist To Host Annual Turkey Dinner

First United Methodist Church of Ellwood City is hosting its 42nd annual turkey dinner on Saturday, November 2, 2019. The event is scheduled to be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the church located at 416 Crescent Avenue in Ellwood City. Ellwood City Area School District to Stage ‘Shrek the Musical’

The Ellwood City Area School District will proudly stage its annual musical next month. The school is presenting “Shrek The Musical” with a cast of over 75 high-school students and children bringing the fairy tale characters to life. Shrek the Musical is a Tony-award winning Broadway musical based on the Oscar-winning fairytale adventure of the same name. PA Water Announces Community Open House At New $50 Million Water Treatment Plant

NEW BEAVER, Pa.  – Pennsylvania American Water announced today that the company will be hosting a community open house at its recently completed $50 million water treatment plant on Saturday, Nov 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Located in New Beaver Borough, the new treatment facility serves approximately 18,000 customers in southern Lawrence and Butler Counties and northeastern Beaver County. North Sewickley Presbyterian Church Hosting ‘Trunk Or Treat’

North Sewickley Presbyterian Church is hosting a “Trunk Or Treat” event on Sunday, October 27th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This is a safer way for children can trick or treat with car trunks decorated in our parking lot. Along with the decorated trunks, we will have a few games for them. According to the church, currently there are about 18 cars ready to decorate their trunks and hand out candy.
