Upcoming Chamber SBS and ‘Let There Be Lights’ Events Scheduled

The Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce is beginning to prepare for downtown holiday events!

Small Business Saturday in the Ellwood City community will be held Saturday, November 30th while the ‘Let There Be Lights’ weekend of events is scheduled to be held Friday, December 6th and Saturday, December 7th.

The chamber’s goal is to work together with community organizations and local businesses to help provide family-friendly events to help kick off the holiday season.

The chamber Small Business Saturday Committee will be handing out giveaways and information on Saturday, November 30th at the Community Plaza beginning at 11:00 a.m. on any special events or sales that Ellwood City area businesses will be having.

If you are a shopper, please seek out these special sales and events for savings. If you are a business, contact the chamber office with any information you would like to share with shoppers.

‘Let There Be Lights’ schedule of events is as follows, capped off with the opening night of Christmas in the Park.

Friday, December 6th

  • 4:00-5:45 p.m. – The Polar Express Free Showing at the Lincoln High School Auditorium
  • 6:00-9:00 p.m. – Light Up Night on Lawrence Avenue featuring craft & food vendors, music, children’s activities, train rides, & the human snow globe photobooth
  • 6:00 p.m. – Lighting of the Christmas tree, concert featuring the Lincoln, Riverside, and Laurel choirs, performance by local dance studios in the PNC drive through lot, & sign language performance on the Borough Building’s steps directed by Mrs. Ovial.
  • 6:00-8:00 p.m. – Strolling Holiday Characters featuring Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph.
  • 8:45 p.m. – Fireworks in the Community Plaza

Saturday, December 7th

  • 3:30 p.m. – Ellwood City Christmas Parade on Lawrence Avenue
  • 6:00-9:00 p.m. – Opening night of Christmas in the Park. Santa will be available for photos in Tree Foil Lodge.

If you are a business owner or know a business owner who may be interested in helping the community kick-off the Christmas season, please reach the chamber.  There are plenty of ways to participate, including decorating a storefront to help celebrate the festive downtown atmosphere, opening your business on Friday, December 6th or Saturday, December 7th and hosting an activity or open house.
