Ellwood City Blood Drive Honors Memory of Shooting Victim

(Ellwood City) – Richard Hogue’s family knows they can never bring him back, but they have chosen to turn their pain into saving lives by hosting a blood drive in his memory. REMINDER: Town Hall Meeting Scheduled For Tonight

This evening Ellwood City residents will finally have their chance to ask their looming questions about the recent happenings and what the future entails for the Ellwood City Medical Center as a Town Hall Meeting has been scheduled. The meeting will begin at 6:15 p.m. and is scheduled to be held in the upstairs auditorium of the Ellwood City Municipal Building according to interim Borough Manager, Joe Cioffi Officials from the Florida-based Americore Health LLC, including CEO Grant White, will be in attendance. Relay For Life Event Leadership Meeting Scheduled

Everyone is welcome to join the Relay For Life as they meet next week to continue planning their 2019 American Cancer Society Relay For Life event. The committee will meet Tuesday, November 13th at the Ellwood City Moose Lodge beginning at 6:00pm. The Moose Lodge is located at 1400 Factory Avenue in Ellwood City.  The meeting is scheduled to run for one hour. The meeting will continue plans for the 2019 event planned again on Lawrence Avenue downtown. Ellwood City Chamber Announces Holiday Event Weekends

As we are beginning to prepare for the upcoming holiday season, Ellwood City has begun preparing for towns holiday events. The goal is to work together with community organizations and businesses to help provide family friendly events that will help kick off the holiday season. Small Business Saturday will be held on Saturday, November 24, and Let There Be Lights will be held Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1. Charleroi shrugged off a sluggish started and used defensive plays in the second half to turn momentum, avoid another upset, and come away with a 35-21 victory over Riverside Friday night at Myron Pottios Stadium. Girlfriend Charged For Beating Boyfriend With A Frying Pan State police reported on Monday, October 17 at 6:30 p.m. that Elaine Pedro, age 24 of Enon Valley, intentionally attacked her boyfriend. The victim reported that in the morning of Sunday, October 14, Pedro hit him on the back left side of his head with a frying pan, scratched the left side of his face, the lower right side of his neck, and his right hand with her fingers that caused visible injury. Bernstine Announces $225,000 in School Safety Grant Awards for Area Schools

HARRISBURG – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) today announced that $225,000 in funding has been awarded to nine school districts in the 10th Legislative District to help improve student safety through a new grant program established by lawmakers earlier this year. The School Safety and Security Grant Program provides grants to school districts, intermediate units, area vocational-technical schools, charter schools and private residential rehabilitative institutions for a wide variety of projects to improve school safety. It’s that time again and plans are underway for the 46th annual Wampum Area Christmas Parade. The parade will be held on Saturday, December 1st at 1:00 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Wampum America Legion Post 749, American Legion Auxiliary, Wampum Lions Club, Wampum Area Women’s Club, and Wampum Area Business Association.
