On Sunday, June 1, 2025, Divine Grace Parish’s Holy Name Society gathered for the annual Altar Server Appreciation Tribute at Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City. It was a morning brimming with joy, celebration, and gratitude at the 9 a.m. Mass. A week after tossing a perfect game in the WPIAL Class 3A Championship, Zach Hare continued his postseason dominance and extended his no-hit streak to 31.1 postseason innings. The senior struck out 13 batters in a no-hit performance Thursday to lead Riverside to a 6-0 victory over Mohawk in the PIAA Class 3A quarterfinals. The Rotary Club of Ellwood City held its scholarship dinner on May 15th. Seniors from Ellwood City and Riverside and their families celebrated with the Rotarians. This year, the Club awarded 6 educational scholarship- totaling $6000.00 In the past, the scholarships were directed at 4-year and 2- year academics. Recognizing a change in student career choices, the Rotary Scholarship Committee added an additional Scholarship to support those who are going into the Trades. The Municipal Woman’s Club of Ellwood City is raising funds to make repairs and updates to the gazebo. The club is currently selling raffle tickets to support much-needed repairs to the gazebo and to replace the surrounding landscaping. The Woman’s Club has maintained the gazebo since 1989, preserving it for over three decades. Each raffle ticket is $10 and gives you a chance to win a $1,000 cash prize.
