Everyone wants to live, work, and play in a clean and green community… and it’s up to everyone to make it possible and improve the overall quality of life for us all. If anyone is interested in scheduling a cleanup in the area, Pick Up Pennsylvania offers free supplies by registering for one of its upcoming events. Ellwood City Boys Tennis Knocks Off Rival Riverside

The Ellwood City Boys Tennis team knocked off its rival Riverside Monday afternoon in Ewing Park. The Wolverines defeated the visiting Panthers 4-1 to improve its record to 2-0 on the young campaign. Grady Smith (6-0, 6-1) and Anthony DiBuono (6-1, 6-0) collected victories in singles matches while the pairings of Daniel Rogers & Ryan Odom (6-4, 6-4) and Hunter Rock & Ayden Frisk (6-4, 6-1) swept doubles. Ellwood City Borough Hiring Summer Employees, Community Outreach Coordinator

Ellwood City Borough is hiring. Jobs available include summer employment for park manager; parks, playground and concession stand coordinator; playground instructors; and concession stand employees. The borough is also looking to add a part-time Community Outreach Coordinator to the staff. Borough Manager David Allen said the position will pay $14 an hour and will include tasks such as website coordination, social media posting and engagement, community outreach with local events and groups, and grantwriting. Riverside Beaver County School District to Present Matilda

Clean up your yard, clean up your home, and clean up your garage! Franklin Township residents are invited to participate in a township clean-up day planned for Saturday, May 7, 2021. Ellwood Group Announces Five $10,000 Scholarships To Be Awarded to Graduating Seniors

Ellwood Group, Inc. has recently announced a unique scholarship opportunity available to high school seniors and/or those who have successfully completed the GED test who plan to attend an accredited trade school following graduation. Riverside Claims PIAA State Relay Championships; Roth Sets State Record

Led by two relay state titles and a dominating individual performance by Joseph Roth, Riverside finished second overall in the Class-2A PIAA Swimming Championships at Bucknell University. On Friday, the Panther relay team collected a state title in the 200-yard freestyle relay.  The team, consisting of Ryan Turner, Sam Kline, and brothers Joseph and Alexander Roth, finished with a time of 1:25.86 with individual splits of 21.24 (J. Wilmington Hockey Season Ends In PIHL Semifinals Loss

The Wilmington hockey team’s season came to an end with a 5-1 loss at the hands of top seeded Bishop Canevin in the PIHL Division 2 semi-finals at Robert Morris University Island Sports Center Thursday evening. Woodske Speaks At EC Historical Monthly Meeting

The Ellwood City Area Historical Society met Monday March 14. President Everett Bleakney opened and welcomed those in attendance. Guy Prestia, a WWII veteran led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag. A moment of silence in memory of four past presidents was observed. They were Glen Koach and Robert Barensfeld in 2021 and Jim Hockenberry and Karen Guy in 2022.
