Ellwood City Mayor, Anthony J. Court, has been elected as President for the AMBP (Association of Mayors of the Boroughs of PA). Ellwood City Football Announces Youth Camp

The Ellwood City Varsity Wolverines football team will be hosting a youth football camp this summer. The camp will take place June 7th-9th from 4-6 p.m. This will be a free camp and it is open to children in grade 3rd-6th. The varsity coaches along with the senior players, will be coaching and overseeing the camp. This will be a non-contact football skills camp. The participants will be given the opportunity to work on the fundamentals of each position on offense and defense. Each day will end with a game of flag football. Wampum To Host Community Yard Sale

The Wampum Area Business Association (WABA) has announced that they will be hosting a community yard sale in June. The event will be taking place all over town on June 5th starting a 9 a.m. Maps will be made available to show the locations on Friday June 4th and Saturday June 5th. The maps will be available at the Wampum Post Office and Wampum Stop & Shop. Gibbons, Wolverines Advance In WPIAL Playoffs With 2-1 Extra Inning Victory

Ryan Gibbons spent his time on the mound avoiding bats with an outstanding pitching effort and knocked in the game’s winning run at the plate, putting the bat on the ball and putting the Wolverines in the WPIAL quarterfinals. With many people in the community disappointed that for the second year in a row due to COVID, The Ellwood City Festival has been cancelled, the community now can look forward to another fun upcoming event. Bernstine Announces Local School District to Receive Ag and Youth Grant

HARRISBURG – Through the Pennsylvania Ag and Youth Grant Program, which Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) supported, a school district located in Lawrence County will receive a grant to help promote student development in agriculture, community leadership, vocational training and peer fellowship. The Perry Lower Intermediate School in Ellwood City was awarded a $7,482 grant to enhance and extend the Garden at Perry Project. Riverside Boys Track Collects Four WPIAL Individual Championships

The Riverside boys track team collected a total of four championships at the WPIAL Individual Championship meet at Slippery Rock University on Wednesday. Colby Belczyk put on a show. Belczyk won the 800m in 1:54.41 setting a new school record, breaking his own record of 1:54.99 and then teamed up with Alden Wetzel, Brody Barton, and Ty Fluharty, to win the 4×400 relay team with a personal best time of 3:27.65.
