Last Wander Ellwood of Season Set For Wednesday

Don’t forget about the last Wander Ellwood event of the year Wednesday, October 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will feature music by Chad Goldbach 5 to 7, vendors on the streets, and local businesses that will be open a little later than normal and offering specials. In addition, open containers will be allowed on the streets during the event. Lincoln High School Class of 1957 Set To Meet October 19

The 1957 Class of Lincoln High School will meet for lunch on Wednesday, October 19th, at Vinny’s Restaurant on Beaver Avenue in Ellwood City. Reservations are due by Monday, October 10th, and can be made by a phone call or text to Nancy Pietrandrea at 724-622-5992. Members and guests will meet at noon, eat around 1:00 p.m. and leave by 4:00 p.m. The number of reservations made will determine if lunch orders will be from the regular menu or if there will be a buffet.

Bernstine’s Markie’s Law Legislation Vetoed by Governor

HARRISBURG – Legislation sponsored by Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) that would focus on the parole process for violent offenders was vetoed today by Gov. Tom Wolf. “I am upset, disappointed and disgusted with the governor’s decision to veto this important, commonsense legislation,” said Bernstine. “This bill would have kept the most dangerous inmates from a premature release in order to protect our Commonwealth residents and would have saved Markie’s life.” House Bill 146, or Markie’s Law, was named after Markie Mason, an 8-year-old boy who was brutally stabbed to death by a man who was paroled at the end of…

Dancing In The Rain: 2022 Ellwood City Oktoberfest Held Amid Rain Skies

Rain and torrential downpours on Saturday afternoon did not damper the mood in Ewing Park as nearly 700 people braved the elements to enjoy the Ellwood City Oktoberfest. The 12th annual event squeaked out a few reasonably accommodating hours between the waves of rain that entered the Saturday afternoon forecast. The event helps raise funds for scholarships and community improvements and is hosted by the Ellwood City Lions Club, Ellwood City Rotary Club and the Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II. Bradys Run Park Holding Hazardous Waste Collection Event In October

Safely dispose of common household chemicals and take advantage of the Beaver County Hazardous Waste Collection event that is scheduled for Saturday, October 8, 2022. Reece Pilarski Qualifies For WPIAL Golf Individual Championships

Riverside golfer Reece Pilarski has qualified for the WPIAL 2A Boys’ Individual Golf Championship after firing a round of 86 on Monday to advance. The Panther senior finished with a a round of (44-42. +16) on Monday at the Par-70 Hannastown Golf Club in Greensburg, PA. Pilarski collected four pars on the afternoon. The Ellwood City Italian American Heritage Foundation (ECIAHF) held its monthly meeting Friday September 23 at Hunter Brother’s Coffee located in the Ole Ellport School. The meeting was opened with A Prayer For A Grateful Heart, and World War II Veteran and Hero Sgt. Guy Prestia led the Pledge of Allegiance.
