Mary  Shapiro, 88, of  Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on  Tuesday evening, February 7,  2017 in UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born in New Castle   on   May 23 1928  to the late Frank and  Julia Soup Kerestly. Mary  enjoyed  decorating, especially her home, and flower arranging. She enjoyed holiday get togethers, and  she especially  loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Judith  A.  Wise, 72, of  Camp Allegheny Road,  Ellwood City, (Wayne Township),  passed away suddenly  and unexpectedly  on Wednesday evening, February 1, and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in the Ellwood City Hospital. She was born in Ellwood City  on  November 15 1944  to the late  Henry and Nina  Gongaware Wilson. She graduated from  Lincoln High School, and also graduated from the Beaver Falls Beauty Academy. Loretta H. Hutchison, 96, of Ellwood City (Wayne Township), passed away peacefully on  Wednes day, February   1, 2017 at The Grove at  Harmony PA . She was born In Ellwood City on December 26 1920 to the late Byron Hutchison Sr., and the late Olive Umstead  Hutchison. She attended Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, and  for many years,  did private duty housekeeping for many families in the area. She was Protestant by faith. Dorothy A. Lumley, 73, of Beaver Falls, formerly of North Sewickley Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 31 2017 in  Curahealth  at  Heritage Beaver Valley. She was born in New Castle   on January 7 1944 to the late  George  and Minnie  Keller. She  was a member of Valley Baptist Church in Beaver Falls. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading and puzzle books. She also  enjoyed  listening to Christian music. She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years,  Clair E.   Raymond Lopez, 83, of Portersville PA (Perry Twp., Lawrence County) passed away peacefully on January 25, 2017, at Franciscan Manor, in Beaver Falls, with family at his side. He was born in Callery PA, Butler Co., on April 7, 1933 to the late Louis Lopez, and the late Cornelia Adams Lopez. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City before serving in the US Air Force during the Korean War, from 1951-1955. Norma Jean Nye, 86, of  New Castle, (Shenango Twp.) passed away peacefully on  Monday morning, January 16 2017 at her residence. She was born in Sharpsville, PA (Mercer Co.) on October 26, 1930, to the late Samuel Miller Reed Felton and the late Rachel Julia Shaffer Felton. Norma graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1948  and Westminster College in 1952.  She began her career as a teacher for one  year in Hermitage,  then in the Ellwood City Area School District where she taught  elementary music education at Hartman, North Side, Perry, Ewing Park and West End Schools for 32 years….

Bruce M. Hockenberry, 64, of Harper’s Ferry Road,   Ellwood City (North Sewickley Twp.) , passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 12 2017 at his residence. He was born in  Ellwood City  on  June 27 1952 to the late Donald L. Hockenberry, who died Sept. 29 2016, and the late Donna J. Majors Hockenberry, who died March 19 2015. Santis, 90,   of Frederick,  Maryland, formerly  of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully with his family at his side after a brief illness on Wednesday evening, December 21, 2016 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital in  Frederick MD.
