Rose Ann Dunning, 81, of Gregg St., Ellwood City passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Franciscan Manor, Patterson Heights. Born in Ellwood City on October 29, 1935, Rose Ann was the daughter of the late Frank and Lena DeVite Sulia.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Dunning on April 30, 2014.  They were married on September 3, 1955.  Rose Ann retired in 2010 after 41 years of service as secretary to the superintendent in the Ellwood Area School District.  She was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish and the Christian Mothers of the Church. …

Megan Rae Wilhelm, 28 of Transfer, PA passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017. Born in Brighton Township on December 16, 1988 she was the daughter of Sherri Hoak of Transfer, PA and Eric L. Wilhelm of Beaver Falls.  Megan served in the Army in Texas training as a medic from 2007 through 2011.  She enjoyed camping and her music but mostly the time spent with her children, Pierson L. Betty L. Wright, 91, of Foch Street, Ellwood City, passed away in her residence on Thursday, September 21, 2017.  Born in Wurtemburg on May 28, 1926, Betty was the daughter of the late Leo O. and Caroline Hartzel Fox.  She married Raymond C. Wright on her birthday in 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1988.  Betty was a former member of the Wurtemburg United Methodist Church.  She loved spending her summers fishing and socializing at the family cottage in Henry’s Bend in Oil City.  She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, often searching cookbooks for the perfect recipe….

David Michael Lordi, 63, of Williamsport, formerly of Ellwood City, fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday, September 3, 2017 following a lengthy illness. Born in Ellwood City on January 30, 1954, David was the son of the late Angelo and Helen Giacobbi Lordi. After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1972, David went on to earn his B.S. in Biology from Geneva College in 1976.  David married the love of his life, Elizabeth Loccisano Lordi on September 27, 1980.  After more than 30 years of service, David retired from his job as a customer service manager at Penna Flame…

Mary E. Zollum, 90, of Mahoney Avenue, Ellport passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver. Born in West Aliquippa on July 14, 1927, Mary was the daughter of the late Steve and Mary Golixer Novak.  Mary retired from Ro-Mar Textiles, formerly Dustproof, after 35 years of service.  A very active member of Holy Redeemer Parish, Mary was a member of its Christian Mothers and Ladies Guild.  She volunteered for over 25 years in the Holy Redeemer School cafeteria.  This last parish bazaar was the first Mary missed.  Mary was also a member…

John M. Tomon, 82 of Dutch Ridge Rd., Wayne Twp. passed away from Alzheimer’s Disease on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Golden Hills Nursing & Rehab Home. Gloria Jean Skornickel Kleinhample, 70 of Mars passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at her current home with her cousin’s family in Ellwood City. Gloria was born in Pittsburgh on February 9, 1947 to the late Charles and Grace Braun Skornickel.  She was a graduate of Mars High School and a retired nurse’s aide at St. John’s Specialty Care Center in Mars. Sara K. Mullin, 89, of Dover Lane, Ellwood City, passed away in the Ellwood City Hospital on Monday, July 31, 2017.
