Thomas L. Lockrouit, 84, formerly of Ellport, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Celebration Villa of Chippewa. Born in Ellwood City on May 12, 1941, Thomas was the son of the late Arther and Isabell Willson Lockrouit.  Tom was a mechanic in the U.S. Navy where he served from 1959 to 1974.  After his service, Tom worked for both the Ellport and Franklin Township Sewer Authority.  In his spare time, Tom enjoyed tinkering in his garage. James Michlich, a proud veteran and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025 at the age of 88. Born on November 22, 1936, James served his country with honor, beginning his military career in the United States Air Force and later joining the United States Navy in 1953. Following his service, he briefly lived in Boston, Massachusetts before returning to his hometown of Ellwood City, where he worked at B&W Aliquippa until his retirement. Louis John Ippolito, 75, formerly of Ellport, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at the Grove at New Wilmington. Born in Ellwood City, Louis was the son of the late Louis John and Catherine Pishioneri Ippolito.  Louis retired from the Youngstown City School District where he worked as a custodian.  He was a former member of St. Vincent DePaul Parish in New Castle, where he sang in the choir and was a lector.  Louis was a veteran of the Navy serving during the Vietnam War.  He graduated Lincoln High School in 1967 attended the University of Pittsburgh.  He received…

Virginia Lee Duncan Catale passed away peacefully on the 26th of March 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  Virginia was born and raised in Ellwood City, PA on May 29th, 1931. She loved living in and around Ellwood City and some of her favorite memories are growing up on the Duncan Family Farm. While attending Lincoln High School she met her future husband, John C. Dr. Vasudevan Rajasenan, 85, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness. Born in India, Dr. Rajasenan embarked on a remarkable journey that led him to the United States following his marriage. He completed his medical residency and cardiology fellowship in Philadelphia before establishing a distinguished 40-year private medical practice in Ellwood City. Karolina Gaul, 90, of Ellwood City, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Concordia at Wexford. Born in Germany on July 24, 1934, Karolina was the daughter of the late Karl and Elizabeth Platzer.  She married Eugene “Gene” Gaul on January 29, 1957, and spent sixty-five years together until he preceded her in death in 2022.  Karolina was a member of the Ellport Presbyterian Church, a founding member of the Ellwood City Lioness Club and a former member of the Ellwood City Hospital Auxiliary.  She enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family. Shirley Sosnoski, 72, of Ellwood City, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at UPMC Passavant McCandless. Born in Ellwood City on December 31, 1952, Shirley was the daughter of the late Jay and Faye Maine Newton.  A 1971 graduate of Lincoln High School, Shirley retired from WalMart where she worked as an optician for many years.  She was a devout Christian and whenever her health prohibited her from attending services in person, she faithfully watched online.  Shirley was a former Avon Lady, and she was very creative.  She enjoyed drawing and making jewelry and wreaths. Mary Lou Fillinger, 88, of Beaver Falls, formerly of Ellwood City passed away at Heritage Valley, Beaver on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Born in Koppel on April 3, 1936, Mary Lou was the daughter of the late Louis and Nellie Holsac Ferrigno.  Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Paul L. Richard Lee Ammon, 66, of Ellwood City, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at UPMC Presbyterian. Richard was born on December 13, 1958 in Industry, PA to the late Charles and Goldie Leport Ammon.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman in his early days.  Richard worked at Hall China in East Liverpool and later at ALSY in Ellwood City.
