Vida MacMurdo Sweeney, 86, of Freedom, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Allegheny General Hospital. Born in Ellwood City, PA on April 22, 1936, Vida was the daughter of the late Isman “Easy” and Ursuline “Sue” Rubino Mariotti.  Vida graduated from Lincoln High School and Geneva College.  She taught kindergarten at B.V.M. School in Ellwood City, was a past president of the Ellwood City Municipal Women’s Club and a former member of the Connoquenessing Country Club where she enjoyed golfing with her friends.  She owned and operated Lady Vi’s clothing store in Volant for over twenty years.  Vida…

Gregory Lyn Shaffer, 76 of Hickory Township passed away at his residence on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at 6:15 A.M. Born in Ellwood City on June 16, 1946, Gregory was the son of the late Theodore and Elta Voland Shaffer.  Gregory was a welder at Kasgro Rail in New Castle and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Christopher James Caputo, 48, of North Sewickley Township died on Friday, October 28, 2022 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital following a lingering illness. Mr. Caputo was born on August 22, 1974 in Cortland, NY to Mary Anne Corrigan Caputo of North Sewickley Township and the late William S. Born in Ellwood City on June 9, 1978, Casey was the daughter of the late Ronald and Robin Marie Fosnaught Tedrow.  Casey was the Office Manager at Midway Medical in Shenango, enjoyed fishing and the CareBears. Dominick Russo, 75, of Ellwood City, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022 at UPMC Mercy. Born in New Castle on May 9, 1947, Dominick was the son of the late Bennie and Mary Rossi Russo.  He married the former Kathleen Tomon on April 24, 1969.  Dominick worked at Medusa Cement and later retired from Cemex.  After his retirement, he also worked at American Eagle in Cranberry Township.  A member of Divine Grace Parish, Dominick enjoyed cooking and baking, hunting and fishing, and working on cars.  He was always doing something for someone. Richard “Pappy” Vincent Fuchs, 89, of Ellwood City passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
