Born in Ellwood City on September 16, 1947, Louis was the son of the late Lewis and Sara Ruscille Beatrice.  He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and a Veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War.  Catholic by faith, Lou enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attended their sporting events and activities whenever possible. David D. Moffatt, 72, of Ellwood City, passed away at his residence on Monday, May 6, 2024. Born in Ellwood City on June 19, 1951, David was the son of the late Donald and Betty Hinkle Moffatt.  He is survived by his former wife, Cynthia Faraoni Moffatt of New Castle.  David was an auto body repairman at Freeman Buick and Pontiac and at his own shop.  He was also employed at Ellwood Iron and Wire.  David enjoyed restoring and collecting cars.  He also enjoyed going to flea markets and casinos but most he enjoyed the time he had with his…

James P. Knight, 81 of North Sewickley Township passed away at Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Born in Ellwood City on June 5, 1942, James was the son of the late Paul Howard and Helen M. Pawol Knight.  He is survived by his wife, the former Debra Arkwright, whom he married on July 20, 1968.  James was a self-employed heavy equipment mechanic.  He enjoyed riding his Harley but mostly enjoyed his grandchildren and telling stories.  James was a 1961 graduate of Lincoln High School. Edward Herman Berendt, 78, of Ellwood City, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at home peacefully surrounded by his wife and children. Ed was born in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania on May 6,1945 to the late Margaret Miller Berendt and William M. Berendt, Sr.  He worked at multiple steel mills in the area and finished his career at the Ellwood City Forge. Thomas R. Dwyer, 77, of Ellwood City, PA passed away peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2024 from ongoing health issues. He was born in Ellwood City on May 26, 1946 to the late George and Alberta Geary Dwyer.  Thomas was a talented gymnast at Riverside High School where he graduated from.  He loved racing dirt bikes and helping his late uncle Harold Geary at Geary’s Cycle Center. Phyllis J. Bubb, 88, of Ellwood City, passed away in her residence on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. Born in Ellwood City on August 18, 1935, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Ralph and Florence Foringer Richt. She married William A. Bubb, Jr. on December 31, 1955 and he preceded her in death on August 2, 2022. Phyllis retired from the Ellwood City Hospital in 1996 where she worked as a respiratory therapist. Born in Ellwood City on April 18, 1941, Nancy was the daughter of the late Michael and Julia Beller Lample.  Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Diane Tedrow, 75, of Chewton, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Butler Health System. Born in Homewood on May 27, 1948, Diane was the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy Keppan Shoaff.  She married Rodnie Tedrow on January 13, 1969 and he preceded her in death on May 19, 2023.  Diane retired as a Certified Nursing Assistant from Providence Care Center where she worked for many years.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She also loved her two black labs.
