Jim Morton of Ellwood City passed away on July 23, 2024 after a two month battle with Glioblastoma. He was peacefully surrounded and wrapped in love by his family. Jim is now playing in the clouds with his very-beloved bulldog Ella Mae. Jim was born in Corry, PA on October 13, 1953 to the late Mary Morton and Fredrick Silvis. William J. Myers, 69, of Ellport passed away at his residence, surrounded by his wife and family, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Born in Beaver Falls on March 19, 1955, William was the son of the late Charles and Dorothy Zduniak Myers.  He is survived by his wife, the former Deanna Dallies whom he married on March 17, 2011.  William had worked as a bartender for over 30 years, mostly at the West End Café and had also worked at Calgon and Jets.  In his younger days, William enjoyed playing pool.  He also enjoyed following all sports. Joseph “Butch” P. Sheeler, 82 of Ellport passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at the Butler VA Medical Center. Born in Ellwood City on August 1, 1941, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph H. and Anna Kiddon Sheeler.  Joseph was a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church and a former caretaker of Holy Redeemer Cemetery.  He was a Navy veteran and a member of the former VFW Post in Ellwood City.  Joseph had also worked at the Butler Auto Auction and cut grass for many of his neighbors and friends. David Gregg Metheny, age 78, of Beaver Falls, passed away July 5, 2024. Gregg was born April 10, 1946 to the late David B. and Edith (Baker) Metheny. A lifelong resident of Beaver County, he was a 1964 graduate of Beaver Falls High School and attended Western State College, Gunnison, CO on a basketball scholarship. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force (1966-1970) and served in Thailand during the Vietnam Conflict. Richard Strohecker, 78, of Ellwood City, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at UPMC Jameson. Born in Ellwood City on October 3, 1945, Richard was the son of the late Clark and Irvina Wright Strohecker. Richard owned and operated Strohecker Sealcoating and Paving. He previously worked at B&W Steel and also drove truck. Richard is survived by his wife, the former Marylu Harper, who he married on July 1, 1995. Tad Biddle Myers passed away on June 13, 2024, in his apartment, with his beloved black cat, Lucy, by his side. Tad was born on October 30, 1942, in Steubenville, Ohio. His parents were Joseph and Virginia Myers. His precious Daddy, Roger B. Goodwin, passed away when Tad was a little boy. Tad worked at the Steubenville Hospital for many years, where his grandfather, Victor Biddle, was a doctor. Virginia A. Dufford, 90, of Wayne Township, passed away at her residence on Monday, June 3, 2024. Born in Ellwood City on September 14, 1933, Virginia was the daughter of the late Levi and Adaline L. Kirker Rape.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence V. Cheryl A. (Burcik) Thomas, 69, of Ellwood City, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.  Cheryl was a graduate of Riverside High School and the St. Francis School of Nursing. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Dolores Burcik. Cheryl’s love of nursing over 45 years took her to Pittsburgh, Las Vegas, Tampa, and back to Ellwood City, where she ended her career as a home health nurse. Debra Sue Gordon, 67, of Ellwood City, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024 at her residence. Born in Ellwood City on March 13, 1957, Debra was the daughter of the late Donald and Phyllis Main Gordon.  Debra was a member of Park Gate Baptist Church.  She enjoyed attending church, shopping and attending family events.
