Bernstine Temporarily Halts In-Person Visits to EC Office, Cancels March Event

Ellwood City To Close Public Parks & Rec Facilities

According to a release made available by the borough, Ellwood City will be closing some of its parks and recreational facility effective immediately. According to the statement, the Borough of Ellwood City is closing some of its parks and recreational facilities to try to get in front of any potential community spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. Borough Announces Free Parking Thru April 1

In a press release made available this afternoon, the Borough of Ellwood City has announced free parking in designated metered areas amid the state issued two week shut down of non-essential business. Free parking is designated at all currently metered spaces located on Lawrence Avenue, Bell Avenue, Crescent Avenue, 5th Street, 6th Street, 7th Street, and the Beaver Avenue parking lot for a maximum of two (2) hours from now through April 1, 2020. EC Historical Society: March Is National Girl Scout Mounth

The March meeting of the Ellwood City Area Historical Society was called to order and WWII veteran Guy Prestia led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. Minutes of the February meeting were read by Secretary Lois Liebendorfer, and the Treasurer’s report was given by Charles Brown. Borough of Ellwood City Response to the Coronavirus

In an abundance of caution, the Borough of Ellwood City has decided to limit the access of all non-essential employees and visitors to all Borough-owned buildings. New Castle Man Pleads Guilty to Cocaine-Related Drug Charges

PITTSBURGH – A former resident of New Castle, PA pleaded guilty in federal court to charges of violating federal narcotics laws, United States Attorney Scott W. Brady announced today. Wesley Cox, also known as Michael Deshawn Carter, age 38, pleaded guilty to two counts before United States District Judge Marilyn J. Horan. In connection with the guilty plea, the court was advised that from 2017 through May 2019, Cox participated in a conspiracy to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine and 280 grams or more of cocaine base, in the form commonly known as crack.
