Wolves Club Announce Scholarship Deadline Extended

The Ellwood City Wolves Club is once again offering scholarships to graduating high school seniors residing in the Ellwood City Area School District and Riverside Beaver County School District who plan to attend a four-year college, community college, trade or technical school following graduation. The deadline to return applications has been extended due to the recent school closures. Ellwood City Resident Among Eight Students To Enter BC3 Int’l Academic Honor Society

New Castle, PA) Eight Butler County Community College students from Lawrence County this spring have accepted membership into BC3’s Rho Phi chapter of an international academic honor society that has attained Phi Theta Kappa’s ultimate five-star status for the fourth time since 1968. According to information made available this afternoon, the Borough of Ellwood City has announced a date for a special council meeting for this Friday, March 27, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. The council meeting will be done remotely, with Council conducting the special meeting by conference call. Ellwood City Annual Easter Egg Hunt Cancelled

According to information made available this afternoon, the 25th Annual Easter Egg hunt has been cancelled. In a statement from the committee, and due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Ellwood City Area Egg Hunt has to cancel this year’s community Easter Egg hunt that was suppose to take place on Saturday April 4, 2020. BC3 Informed That Student Tests Positive for COVID-19

Butler, PA- Butler County Community College was notified today by a student that the student who attends BC3’s main campus in Butler Township has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last on BC3’s main campus March 9. The college today alerted students who attended classes with the student and faculty who taught the courses. It also notified other students, faculty and staff. Ellwood City To Close Public Parks & Rec Facilities

According to a release made available by the borough, Ellwood City will be closing some of its parks and recreational facility effective immediately.
