Three New Inductees To Festival Hall of Fame To Be Honored Sunday

On Sunday, July 3, at 4:00, inductees into the 2022 Hall of Fame will be honored at a ceremony on Folino Entertainment Stage. Please be on hand to honor these individuals who have contributed substantially to the Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Food, and Entertainment Festival. The Festival Hall of Fame was established in 2018. Hall of Fame souvenir booklets from 2018 and 2019 are still available, and contain stories of the previous inductees. 2022 Historical Society Annual Fund Drive Underway

The Ellwood City Historical Society board meeting was held on June 6, 2022 unveiling the Annual Fund Drive. The ways and means committee announced the dates for the starting of the fund drive. The committee stated the fund drive would start June 15 and run to August 15, 2022. The committee is composed of Everett Bleakney, Charles Brown, Robert Morabito, and Andrew Kindle chairman. Due to the Wayne Township Tax Discount Period ending Thursday, June 30, 2022, the township has announced extended tax office hours. The Riverside Pool Is Open This Summer

According to the Riverside Beaver County School District website, the Riverside Pool is reopening this summer for lap swimming, lessons, family swimming, and more. The schedule is as follows: Daily lap swimming from 7:30 a.m. to noon Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday; Family swimming from 12:30-4 p.m. Monday-Friday; Scheduled pool parties from 12:30-4 p.m. Monday-Friday; Water Zumba from 10-10:45 a.m. on Saturdays. Bernstine to Host Free Shredding Event On Saturday in Scott Township

Former Wampum Man Pleads to Violating Federal Drug and Gun Laws

A former Wampum resident pleaded guilty in federal court to violating the federal narcotics and firearms laws, United States Attorney Cindy K. Chung announced this week. Michael Turner, 49, formerly of Wampum, PA, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon before United States District Judge Stephanie L. Haines. In connection with the guilty plea, the court was advised that beginning in 2019, agents with the FBI and other agencies investigated drug trafficking activity in Pittsburgh’s Hill District neighborhood, and elsewhere.
