Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of October 16, 2017

Activities scheduled at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: Monday, October 16, at 1:30 p.m. – Afternoon Book Discussion Group for Adults. The group will discuss the book, “One in a Million Boy,” by Monica Wood. New members are welcome, so call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information. Riverside Haunted Hayride Starts Tonight

The Riverside annual Haunted Hayride, sponsored by Riverside Outdoor Athletic Renovation (ROAR) starts tonight from 7-9p.m. The Haunted Hayride is one of several fundraisers conducted by ROAR throughout the year. Nearly 200 volunteers come together to create a fun event for the community, and over 1100 people enjoyed the experience. This year, Roar has had the assistance of a Riverside alumni, John Guerrini. Woman Facing Charges After Spending Thousands on Stolen Credit Card

According to the criminal complaint, Linda Marie Thompson, 34 of Valencia, PA., will be facing two counts of a felony charge of unauthorized use of a credit card. The victim went to the Ellwood City Police Department to report the fraud, stating that Thompson had taken two of his credit cards without his permission and charged large amounts on both cards. One card had a charge balance of $4815.90 and the second had a charge balance of $6995.05.


Eastern Star Pulled Pork Dinner

The Eastern Star Pulled Pork Dinner will be hosted on Saturday, October 14 from 4p.m.-7p.m. at the Christ Presbyterian Church in Ellwood City. Tickets are available at the door, adults are $10 and children 4-11 are $8. Children 3 and under eat for free. Menu will consist of pulled pork, sauerkraut, roasted potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, rolls, dessert and beverage.


Haunted Hill View Manor Offers Free Halloween Trick or Treat

Some of you may remember the spooky tales of Haunted Hill View Manor we posted about last year, and if not, you can still read it here. Riverside Golf Advances in WPIALs

The Riverside Golf Team advanced to the WPIAL Team Finals! The team will play in the WPIAL Team Finals on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 9a.m. at Cedarbrook Golf Course. Great job and good luck Panthers!


Free Community Concert at Lincoln High

The Ellwood City Community Enrichment is hosting a free concert at the LHS Auditorium this Saturday. The concert will be performed by the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band from Virginia. Wayne Township Clean-Up Day

Wayne Township will be hosting their Clean Up Day on October 14, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. The fees are $5 for a pick up truck load and $10 for a small dump truck load. Paid in advance to the Wayne Township office.
