The Ellwood City Community Enrichment is hosting a free concert at the LHS Auditorium this Saturday. The concert will be performed by the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band from Virginia. Mr. Frank L. Bellissimo, 85, of Ellwood City passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017 in the Ellwood City Hospital. Mr. Bellissimo was born on September 13, 1932 in Ellwood City to the late Bruno and Victoria DeCaria Bellissimo. Frank is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1952 and was a standout player on the high school football team. He attended and played football at Geneva College for 2 years. The Riverside Golf Team qualified for the WPIAL team playoffs and will be competing tomorrow, Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Indian Run Golf Course in Avella, PA., at 9:00 a.m. The team will leave at 6a.m. from the high school parking lot. Passing has become a focal point for the Wolverines in the past two weeks as Ellwood has had much success in the quick-strike, quick-score type of plays. Friday’s game was no pushover as well in the passing game; however, the Beaver Bobcats had their own “ace” at the quarterback position, Brodie List, who helped the Bobcats spoil the evening 57-14 on Homecoming night.
