Police: Shooting Meth and Hit and Run

Shooting Meth in a Parking Lot Two Beaver Falls men were arrested for meth use for an incident on May 10. According to the criminal complaint, at around 2:30 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle pulled to the side of a parking lot near Duncan Avenue. The officer observed the two men attempt to hide items. The men were identified as Erick Daniel Koah, 30, and Clinton P Klinesmith, 27, and they admitted to using meth. Police: Intent to Deliver Marijuana, Stealing Cash from Vehicle and Recording Coworkers in the Office

Wire-tapping in the workplace A Beaver man was accused of recording six coworkers in his office without their knowledge. According to the criminal complaint, on March 8, the victims confronted defendant Thomas Michael Greene, 55, when they heard their voices coming from his pocket. Greene informed police that he had misunderstood advice from his lawyer and was unaware the recorder was playing. He was arraigned before Magistrate Jerry Cartwright and accused of intercepting oral communication with a portable voice recorder. Lady Wolverines Win Second Round of Playoffs in Bottom of the Seventh

For fives innings, neither Ellwood or Burgettstown could get a runner around the bases thanks to excellent pitching. Ultimately, Ellwood City defeated Burgettstown 2-1 yesterday in the second round of the playoffs. Burgettstown pitcher Katie Tarr pitched a near-perfect five innings, with an interruption that ended for Ellwood when Arianna Garroway was caught stealing home. Ellwood pitcher Skyla Greco outmatched Tarr with a no-hitter until the sixth when Burgettstown earned their first run. Police: Lawrence County Drug Task Force Apprehends Heroin Dealer

According to the criminal complaint, in March, the Lawrence County Drug Task Force received intelligence concerning a man referred to as “Flakka,” residing in Beaver Falls. “Flakka” was known to sell heroin from a house on Ellwood Avenue in Ellwood City. On March 23, police made arrangements to purchase $80 worth of heroin from “Flakka,” identified as Michael Alexander James, 22, from Chicago. Following the operation, James was arrested. He was arraigned before Magistrate Jerry Cartwright on May 18 and charged with delivery of controlled substances and possession of controlled substances. Riverside Baseball and Ellwood Softball Games Changed

The Riverside playoff baseball game at versus Keystone Oaks at Burkette Complex has been postponed to May 24. The team will be excused the same time tomorrow and the bus will leave the same time tomorrow. The Ellwood softball playoff game versus Burgettstown has been moved from West Allegheny to Sewickley Academy at 6 p.m.

Ellwood, Riverside Athletes Qualify for PIAA Track and Field Championships

Two Ellwood and nine Riverside athletes qualified for the PIAA track and field championships at Shippensburg University. Ellwood’s Taylor Petrak finished fourth in the 300 meter hurdles at the WPIAL track and field championships yesterday at Baldwin. The top five finishers advance to the PIAA. Billy Lott placed seventh in the 1600 meter run but his time of 4:26.57 automatically qualified him. Goldie Bookamer placed eighth in the pole vault, earning a medal. Riverside Mercy Rules Steel Valley in Second Round of Playoffs

In yet another mercy rule victory, the Riverside baseball team shut down Steel Valley 10-0 in the second round of the playoffs yesterday. On Tuesday, Riverside had done the same thing, with the same score, to New Brighton. Riverside earned 10 runs in the first four innings. After neither team scored in the fifth, the game ended via the mercy rule. Hitting and runs were distributed across the Panthers’ roster, with Dylan Speicher, Ricky Wass and Braden Bentel each getting two hits.
