Ellwood City Wolverine Varsity Football Tickets on Sale Now

Season tickets for 2018 Ellwood City Wolverine Varsity Football games are now on sale. Tickets available will be adult season passes, student season passes and student super fan passes at Lincoln High School; and student season passes and student super fan passes at Hartman Intermediate and Perry Lower Intermediate. The adult and student season passes are only good for home varsity football games, while the student super fan passes are good for all home varsity sporting events, excluding fundraising tournaments and playoffs. Monaca Man Charged In Ellwood City Thefts

According to police reports, Shawn Patrick Glenn, 22, of Monaca, PA has been charged with theft, theft from vehicles, loitering and prowling, possession of instruments of crime, fleeing police and resisting arrest after an incident last week in Ellwood City’s North Side. Ellwood City police received a call overnight on Friday, August 17 at approximately 2:00 am regarding a male dressed in camouflage breaking into vehicles in the area of Hazel Avenue.  The suspect was originally being pursued by two men who said they saw him in the bed of a pickup truck one of them owned. 7th Annual Connoquenessing Creek Clean Up This Weekend

The Allegheny Aquatic Alliance is organizing the Connoquenessing Creek Clean Up on Saturday. Teams will be dispersed along the Connoquenessing Creek — Conni — starting at McKim Way, across the creek from Riverside High School, and ending at Rock Point, where the Conni meets the Beaver River. Registration for the clean up day begins at 8 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 220 Fountain Ave. in Ellwood City. BC3 Golf Outing Draws 110, Raises Record $90K to Support Student Scholarships

PHOTOS: Bald Eagle Spotted In Ewing Park

Thursday evening, along the banks of the Connoquenessing Creek in Ewing Park, a bald eagle was spotted just off the Nature Trail walkway.  Walkers who enter the Nature Trail north entrance (nearest to Helling Stadium) may be able to catch a glance of this phenomenal bird. Bald eagles are most readily identified by their white heads and tails but usually don’t take on that appearance until they are fully mature, around 5 years of age, which is when they nest.  Bald eagles can weigh up to 14 pounds and have 7-foot wingspans. Adult Dance at Ewing Park Pool August 27

The Ellwood City Council Parks and Recreation Committee is having a Adult Dance Pool Party at Ewing Park on Monday, August 27, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The theme of the party is oldies and DJ Franko will be playing music from the 50’s 60’s and 70’s. The Carpenters Project Pasta Dinner

The Carpenter’s Project is sponsoring a pasta dinner on Saturday, Aug 25 at Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church. There will be two seating’s:  4:30 pm and 6:45 pm and the dinner will be prepared by Geoff Straub, executive chef of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
