Tonight for Ellwoods Trick or Treating, the Ellwood Cit Medical Center will be handing out treats from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will be treats located near the main entrance driveway. In other news, the Medical Center will be hosting a Meals On Wheels jewelry sale fundraiser. The fundraiser will be Thursday, November 8 from 8:00 a.m until 4:00 p.m., and on Friday, November 9 from 8:00 am.m and 3:00 p.m. All jewelry will be sold for $6.00 a piece, and there will also be designer inspired handbags, electronics, and more sold. Panthers Set To Travel For WPIAL Playoff Opening Round Game

The Riverside Panthers will make an 80-mile journey and travel to Charleroi on Friday for their opening round game Friday night at 7:30pm in Carroll Township. The Panthers (6-3 overall) gathered a 13-seed in the Class-AA WPIAL Playoffs and will open with a defacto road game against Interstate Conference champion Charleroi (8-1 overall) on the Cougars home turf. Tax Collector Office Hours

Ellwood City tax collector, Maryann Portugallo will be in her office at 525 Lawrence Avenue on Wednesday and will be available from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. During the month of November, she will be available on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Starting Tuesday, December 4,  Portugallo will be available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. For more information, call 724-758-9673.

New Brighton backer Ashton Fath scored with less than a minute in regulation to boost the Lions to a 22-16 road victory over the Panthers Friday night. Riverside held a 13-8 halftime lead on the strength of a Nathan Sciarro touchdown run and Ben Hughes 10-yard touchdown pass and led midway through the final quarter. As if one overtime was not enough on a wet and sloppy Friday Night, the Ellwood City and Brentwood non-conference game stretched over three hours and into a third overtime before the Wolverine came out victorious, 34-26, to cap off their 2018 season in victorious fashion. On Saturday, October 27 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. you can join Digital Paranormal Investigations to investigate the Wampum Train Station. Gaming Control Board To Hold Public Input Hearing For Mount Airy Casino

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced Thursday that it will hold a public input hearing on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in the social room of the Big Beaver Borough Fire Station #14 to collect testimony on the Category 4 casino application submitted by Mount Airy #1, LLC. Man Charged With Burglary, Trespassing & Threats In Wayne Township

On Friday, October 12, just after 10:00 p.m, state police were called to a house on Guy Way, Wayne Township with reports of a white male breaking into a females home. The witness that called in stated he was throwing a party with a group of his friends when he noticed the male entering his neighbors home. He proceeded to then go to his neighbors house and observed the male, who he identified as the victims ex-boyfriend Zachary Dinell, 25, of Freedom, ransacking the living room and kitchen. Date Released For Town Hall Meeting Regarding The EC Medical Center

On Wednesday, November 7, Ellwood City residents will finally have their chance to ask their looming questions about the recent happenings and what the future entails for the Ellwood City Medical Center as a Town Hall Meeting has been scheduled.
