Ellwood City School District Choir Performs At Community Plaza

On Wednesday, the Ellwood City Area School District Concert Choir gathered and sang Christmas carols at the Community Plaza. The brief concert began approximately 10:30am and was under the direction of Senior High Choral Director, Felicia Greco. This past Sunday the music department held its Annual Christmas Gift Concert at Lincoln High School. More than 250 students will be performing in this concert. EC SPORTS RECAP: Wrestling, Boys Basketball Teams Defeated

Five Wolverine wrestlers collected match victories Wednesday night, but Ellwood City fell to Beaver Area 42-27. Jake Alberts (120 lbs), Donavan Chambers (138 lbs), Zach Polojoic (145 lbs), Doug Balin (152 lbs), and Austin Walley (182 lbs) collected victories. Beaver Area used six match forfeits to a earn a majority of its points on the evening. LED Billboard Being Constructed In Franklin Township

What is going on in Franklin Township? The Search Is On, Police Reporting Up To 25 Vehicle Break-Ins

From Sunday, December 8 and into Monday, December 9, there had been a reported 10 incidents of vehicles being broken into in Ellwood City. As of today, however, police say there has been between 20-25 break-ins. The thief or thieves have taken anywhere between $200 and $2 worth of items and change in each report. These break-ins have been happening in the following areas: Meadowridge Drive, Skyline Drive, Aetna Drive, and York Street. The most recent reports that were released had break-ins on Massachusetts Street,  Walnut Drive, Sunset Boulevard and another incident on Skyline Drive. These break-ins were not forced due…


Ellwood City Wrestling Team Has Early Success

This past weekend, the Ellwood City varsity boys wrestling team began their 2018-2019 season at the 22-team Hickory Invitational. The wrestling team is lead by seniors Jake Alberts and Donavin Chambers, along with their teammates Austin Walley, Donavin Chambers and Zach Polojoic. At the weekend invitational, Walley took first place in his 182-pound class, collecting a 15-3 decision over Elijah Ayers (Coudersport) while Chambers placed second in his 138-pound final, falling 7-2 in the finals. The Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce our new Co-Executive Directors, Loralei Gallaher-Hink and Jillian Court. Coffee Shop Lessons: Project Educate Comes To Ellwood

Project Educate is returning to Ellwood City. The workshops started in November and returned for its December workshop earlier this week. The plan is for it to keep coming back every second Monday of the month through the summer of 2019. These workshops are held at 6:00 p.m. at National Grind. Boariu, Wolverines Emerge Victorious Against Rochester

A near triple-double performance by Wolverine senior Broc Boariu propelled Ellwood City to a 64-41 victory over Rochester on Tuesday at Lincoln High School. Boariu finished with 26 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists to lead the Wolverines to the coast-to-coast victory.  Ellwood City never trailed in the contest.
