PART 1: Riverside Musical ‘State Fair’ Dress Rehersal Photo Gallery

This year beginning on Thursday, March 14 to Sunday, Riverside High School will be putting their own twist on the 1945 musical State Fair. Potential New Drug Testing Policy At Riverside

On Monday, the Riverside community gathered in the Riverside High School cafeteria for an Informational Night for parents. The topic of discussion was Riverside’s possible new Drug Testing Policy. Parents with children in all grades came out to give their opinion on the subject at matter, and while some seemed to support it, the rest had more questions rather than support. The policy would target Riverside students in grades 7 through 12. Specifically, it would be aimed at students who drive and or participate in Riverside sports, however, students in the band would not be subject to these tests. According…

Relay For Life Event Leadership Meeting Please join us for our next meeting of Ellwood City Relay For Life on Tuesday, March 12th at 6:00 pm. We will be meeting at the Moose, 1400 Factory Avenue. VIDEO: “The Tamburitzans” To Perform At Lincoln High School

“The Tamburitzans” (formerly the Duquesne University Tamburitzans) will perform their new production, PRISM – Full Spectrum Culture, at the Lincoln Junior/Senior High School on Sunday, March 31th at 3:00pm. In their 82nd season, the Tamburitzans will take the audience on a whirlwind tour of Croatia, Serbia, Armenia, Romania, Ireland, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Greece, Latin Caribbean, the Ukraine, and Macedonia. Walley Takes 4th Place At PIAA Wrestling Tournament

Ellwood City junior wrestler Austin Walley finished 4th overall in the 182-pound weight class in the PIAA Class AA Wrestling Tournament held at the GIANT Center in Hershey, PA. Walley used a 10-2 decision over Kaleb Kamerer of Slippery Rock and a 9-6 decision over Hunter O’Connor of Jersey Shore Area to advance early in the tournament.  The victories set up a rematch with Bryson Miller of Freedom Area in the semifinal. Miller, however, earned his revenge earning his first victory in four tries against Walley, knocking off Walley 3-2 in an ultimate tie-breaker. It was the second time this season…

Local YSU Student A Part Of Equestrian Team’s Ride To National Semifinals

The Youngstown State University Western Equestrian team has qualified for the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association Western Semifinals, March 16- 17, at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. Stephanie Dessler, a Biology major from New Galilee, qualified individually and will also be a part of the YSU team advancing to Utah next week. Project Educate Trauma Workshop Scheduled

Project Educate will be hosting a complimentary workshop on little to big traumas and how to transcend them. This workshop will be held at National Grind on Monday, March 11 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There will be beverages and snacks provided, as well as available child care. The workshop will be geared towards students aging from 14 to 21 along with their parents, families, and professional supports. Riverside’s Swim Team Making A Splash At WPIAL Championship

The Riverside swim team made a splash in the WPIAL championships this past weekend. On the first day, February 28, the Panthers were led by the 200-yard medley relay team of Alexander Roth, Josiah Shaffer, Graham Kralic and Donnie Paracca, which placed second with a time of 1:38.53, less than two-tenths of a second behind Indiana. The same quartet placed third in the 200 freestyle relay. “Nothing will keep them from doing their best! Ellwood City Native Hosting Prize Bash Benefit Luncheon

There will be a Prize Bash Luncheon held at the Ellwood City Saxon Club on Saturday, April 27 starting at 1:00 p.m. This luncheon will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. All proceeds will go towards Kelly Coccia’s LLS Pittsburgh Women Of The Year campaign. The Ellwood City native, Coccia, will be hosting this event as one of her fundraising events. The cost is a $15 donation which will get you lunch and 20 tickets to put towards the Chinese Auction that will be going on during the luncheon. Extra tickets will be offered at 10 tickets for $5.
