Library Activities For The Week Of June 3, 2019

The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities.  Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458.

Activities taking place this week include

TUESDAY, JUNE 4

6:30 p.m. – “Family Laptime,” designed for babies as young as 6 months of age, toddlers and preschoolers. This is an interactive, family event and features stories, songs, games, finger plays and more. Registration is requested.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 5

10:00 a.m. – “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. It is designed to help reduce stresses of everyday life. All adults are welcome.

1:00 p.m. – “Building Buddies,” a program of fun and learning for toddlers and preschoolers. This interactive program allows kids to explore building and socialization skills. No registration is required.

3:00 p.m. – “Creative Writing Workshop,” for students in seventh grade and up. This group meets twice each month to share their work and discuss writing tips and techniques.

6:30 p.m. – “Evening Book Group for Adults,” the group will be discussing the book “House Rules” by Jodi Picoult.

THURSDAY, JUNE 6

10:00 a.m. – “Puppet Theater Workshop,” designed for students in 4th grade and up. The kids create plays and then meet throughout the summer to rehearse the plays using marionettes and puppets. Then, in late July, those participating present their plays to family, friends and other Summer Reading Program-goers.

6:00 p.m. – “Family Movie Night,” designed for preschoolers and early elementary-aged children. A full-length feature film is shown and refreshments are served. Since this is a family night event, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Call the library for more information 724-758-6458

SATURDAY, JUNE 8

Noon- “Twenty Something Book Group,” they will be discussing the book “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Saturday June 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. the Ellwood City Area Public Library will be having a “Summertime Tea Fundraiser,” at Calvin Presbyterian Church located at 615 Crescent Ave. Ellwood City, PA 16117. Tickets are available at the library. Please call the library for more information, 724-758-6458.

Saturday July 13, 2019 the Ellwood City Area Public Library will be hosting an “American Girl Doll” party. There will be three sessions, 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., bring your favorite doll or stuffed animal. Reservations are required. One adult per child.
