Big Shot Bobs Flying Into Town

Big Shot Bobs (BSBs) has made its debut in Ellwood City. The ‘House Of Wings’ held their opening night on Monday, June 3 hoping for a decent turnout, and they got more than just that. With over 100 orders, a 90-minute long wait, and when their phone lines became completely unavailable, people started coming into the 2nd Street location, it’s safe to assume Big Shot Bobs will become a town favorite in no time. Lawrence County Lions Club Plans Casino Trip

The Lawrence County Area Lions Club are planning a bus trip to the Meadows Casino on July 2, 2019. The bus will leave from Ewing Park across from the swimming pool at 8:30am. Reservations must be in by June 20th by calling Vicki at 724-758-0858. Messages will be returned. The $30.00 cost of the trip includes $25.00 in free play. Flood Help May Be Available For Franklin Township Residents

According to information made available by Franklin Township this week, residents may have help in recovering from the recent bouts of heavy rains and flooding that hit the area late last month. If you had first-floor damage to your house regarding the recent flash flood, please contact the township secretary, Shannon Schlosser, at twpsecretary@zoominternet.net to get a survey to fill out. The township has to collect a damage assessment report to submit to the County. The township will need at least 25 homes with first-floor damage and 19 million in damage throughout PA from that specific storm, to possibly be…


1st Beautification Winner of 2019

The Borough of Ellwood City and the Mayor’s Office has announced the 1st presentation of the “2019 Beautification Winner” Mayor Anthony J. Court awarded the beautification award to Mike and Shanna Meyer of Center Avenue, Ellwood City. The Meyer’s have done an amazing job making their property come to life and making Ellwood City proud. Library Activities For The Week Of June 3, 2019

The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities.  Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. Activities taking place this week include TUESDAY, JUNE 4 6:30 p.m. – “Family Laptime,” designed for babies as young as 6 months of age, toddlers and preschoolers. This is an interactive, family event and features stories, songs, games, finger plays and more. Registration is requested. The Class of 2019 has graduated! 117 Lincoln High School seniors as well as an additional 38 students from Lawrence County Vo-Tech received diplomas as part of the ceremonies at the Leslie H. Sabo Memorial Auditorium Thursday evening. Nine students graduated with high honors: Katherine Bowser, Alex Fotia, Chloe Kuffer, Patricia McMillin, Caden Myers, Kaitlyn Navolio, Madeline Spadafore, and Reece Wilson. Ellport Borough Yard Sale, Clean Up Day Planned

Ellport Borough will be hosting two events for residents within the first two weeks of June. To kick off the summer season, there will be an Ellport Community Yard Sale on Saturday, June 1st from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Later in the month, there will be an Ellport Borough Clean-up Day, scheduled for Saturday, June 15th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Items can only be dropped off at that time. County Glass Recycling Program

Beginning on June 5, Beaver County residents will be able to drop off their glass items at Brady’s Run Park Recycling Center every Wednesday. The collection will be from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The Through Beaver County’s Lens: Glass to Glass program will be collecting eyeglasses, sunglasses, and reading glasses that will be used for reuse. Products collected will be then shared with local doctors or will be sent aboard through Mission Vision for use in developing countries. The annual Ellwood City Memorial Day parade was held on Monday, May 27. The parade began on the Veterans Bridge on Fifth Street at 10:00 a.m and proceeded to Crescent Avenue, over to Eighth Street, down to Lawrence Avenue, back to Fifth and then onto Spring Avenue into Legion Park, where the 45-minute memorial event was held. The parade traveled to several veterans, local leaders spoke, the borough’s civic choral performed, and there was a flag-raising ceremony.
