POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

THEFT:  PSP Beaver responded to a report on June 28th in the Homewood Boro in Beaver. Officers responded to a report of tools being stolen from a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado truck, which was parked in the rear parking lot in the Super 8 Motel. It was discovered that an unknown suspect had stolen a gutter bender, nail gun, air compressor and a jig saw from the truck bed and tool rack of the Silverado. Reed’s Services Presents 1st Annual “Dog Days Of Summer” Event

Come out and enjoy the dog days of summer! Reed’s Pet & Livestock Feed & Supplies will be hosting its first annual “Dog Days Of Summer” fundraising event next month. The event will take place, rain or shine, on Saturday, July 24th from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Ewing Park. “We’re really looking forward to all of Ellwood coming out to support the K9 Unit. Mayor Anthony J. Court announced the 4th winner of the 2021 Beautification Award. The winners are John and Kelly Katsadas. “Congratulations on a job well done. Mrs. Dorothy M. (Kramer) DiFrischia, 87,  of Scott Twp. passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at the UPMC Jameson Hospital, Emergency Room. Mrs. DiFrischia was born on December 28, 1934 in Ellwood City to the late John and Matilda (Schuffert) Kramer. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1953. On April 30, 1955 she married Donald T. DiFrischia. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Sue Drotleff of Neshannock Twp., her son, Donald J. (Susanna) DiFrischia of Scott Twp., grandchildren, Amanda (George) Chietto, Jennifer (Ryan) O’Neil, Tamara Drotleff (Mike Shaw), and Bruce L. Drotleff, Jr….

Mr. Joseph R. Baros, 78, of Ellwood City passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 at the UPMC Jameson Care Center in New Castle. Mr. Baros was born in Ellwood City to the late Joseph and Mary (Zona) Baros on October 30, 1942. He had attended Lincoln High School, and is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish. Route-288 Relocation Project To Hold Virtual Public Meeting

Independence Excavating is holding a Virtual Public Meeting regarding the SR 288 Relocation project on July 12th from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
