Holy Redeemer Golf Bash Cancelled

According to a Facebook post made by the Ellwood City Wolves and Holy Redeemer, the Golf Bash that was originally scheduled to take place on January 16th has now been cancelled. After receiving a letter from Bishop David Zubick on the amount of rising COVID-19 cases in the area, the decision was made to cancel this in person event. Splash Bros Lead Wolverines Over Lancers

“Splash Brothers” Alexander and Joseph Roth combined to score 43 points Friday night to power the visiting Wolverines to a 56-34 victory over Neshannock. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

TERRORISTIC THREATS: According to a criminal complaint, on December 24th Patrick McCloskey, 41, of Ellwood City, was charged with Terroristic Threats With Intent To Terrorize Another. At approximately 9:10 a.m., ECPD was requested by McCloskey’s mother to come to Crescent Avenue due to threats made by McCloskey towards her and her other son. It was learned by police of an active bench warrant for McCloskey’s arrest. Holy Redeemer’s Cash & Golf Bash Less Than Two Weeks Away

Less than two weeks are left until Holy Redeemer’s Golf Bash takes place on Sunday, January 16th. The Cash & Golf Bash will be hosted at the Catholic Center located at 311 Lawrence Avenue, Ellwood City. Roth, Wolverines Knock Off Rival Riverside

Senior Alexander Roth connected on six 3-pointers en route to his game high 26 points to lead Ellwood City to at 63-40 victory Tuesday Night over rival Riverside. Roth scored 16 points in a first half that saw the Wolverines race out to a 39-24 halftime lead. In a well rounded effort, Roth added five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Barry’s Ice Cream Gets New Owners And Remains Open

Barry’s Ice Cream created some angst over the holiday weekend when the owners first announced on Instagram on Sunday that they would be stepping away from the hometown ice cream shop after 28 years. However, new details quickly emerged on Facebook Sunday with a lengthy update announcing the parlor will remain open. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

MISSING PERSON: Pennsylvania State Police received reports of a missing person on December 29, 2021. It is reported Lauren Cortez, 32, of New Castle, had left her residence with a known male on December 28th at approximately 4:45 p.m. and last spoke with her parents at 7:35 p.m. relating she was traveling to College Hill in Beaver Falls with the known male and two unknown males. Wolverines Cruise To Christmas Tournament Championship

Ellwood City traveled north for the Mercer Christmas Tournament and found no resistance in District 10 as the Wolverines earned the tournament championship Tuesday evening. The defending WPIAL Class-3A Champions defeated Saegertown 77-36 on Monday and then host Mercer 74-49 on Tuesday. The Splash Brothers, Alexander and Joseph Roth, each scored 47 points over the two-game tournament.
