POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On August 1st, at approximately 12:05 a.m., PA State Police were dispatched to Freeds Trailer Park, New Beaver Borough, Lawrence County, in reference to criminal mischief. On scene a 38-year-old female, of New Galilee, advised that the neighbor threw an egg at her window. The actor was warned and charges were not filed due to the Victims request. FORE! Ellwood City Co-Ed Golf Off To Fast Start

Ellwood City Co-Ed Golf Team is enjoying some early season success, collecting victories in its first two matches of the season. The Wolverines opened up the season with a home victory over Union on Friday (223-259) and collected another victory at home on Tuesday, defeating New Castle (214-256). On Friday, three Ellwood golfers – Jordan Keller, Nathan Williams, and Mitch Covert – posted rounds of 44 to pace the host Wolverines.  Colten Crizer was low man with a score of 43 while Mady McCommons posted a round of 48 to round out the scoring for Ellwood City.  Rocco Galmarini posted…

Ellwood City Wolves Recognizes Area Student Athletes

The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II met on Wednesday August 10, 2022, and recognized student athletes from Lincoln and Riverside Schools for their accomplishments these past school years. The Club recognizes local citizens who excel in their school or perform volunteer work in the community, epitomizing the Clubs moto: “Pro Bono Publico”-For the Good of the Public. This month’s recognition certificates went to members of the 2021 Lincoln Volleyball Team who won their first ever Section Title in 2021. The Ellwood City Area School District will be hosting a ‘Back To School’ event featuring a free pasta dinner and speech by world renowned speaker, Josh Shipp. The FREE event will be held on Monday, August 22nd at the Lincoln High School Cafeteria. Vietnam Veterans Moving Wall Coming To Ewing Park

The Ellwood City American Legion Post 157 is hosting the Vietnam Moving Wall in Ewing Park on August 18th through August 22nd. The event is free to the public. The Moving Wall will be located in the same area of Ewing Park as the Festival. Specifically it will be to the right of the Folino Shelter (the stage) running a total of 253 feet in a v-shape and parallel to Washington Ave. Parking is available in the swimming pool parking lot. El Canelo Moving Its Ellwood City Location

According to information posted on its Facebook.com page Monday afternoon, El Canelo Authentic Mexican Restaurant is relocating its Ellwood City restaurant. El Canelo is planning to move to 225 Fifth Street, Ellwood City. The restaurant will be closed at its current Lawrence Avenue location Monday and Tuesday to aid in its move to its new location.
