Three Games, Three Double-Doubles For Roth; Wolverines Start Season 3-0

Three games in, three double-doubles for Joseph Roth. The Ellwood City junior big man has led the young, upstart Wolverines to an early 3-0 regular season record after the Wolverines wrapped up the Laurel Tip-Off tournament by defeating the host Spartans 61-46 Monday night. PHOTOS: ‘Let There Be Lights’ & Christmas Parade

A series of events hosted by the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce kicked off the first weekend of December. Friday evening, Ellwood City held its “Let There Be Lights” downtown extravaganza that featured street vendors, live performances, and the lighting of the large holiday tree in the community plaza. On Saturday, Lawrence Avenue was greeted with floats, groups and trucks as part of the annual Christmas Parade. Rosenberger Signs With Barry University

Riverside Panther standout student-athlete Samantha Rosenberger has officially signed her letter of intent to play Division II softball with Barry University, in Miami, Florida. Rosenberger has received a full academic and athletic scholarship and is pictured signing her paperwork last Friday, November 18th at Riverside High School Rosenberger is a 1B/LHP senior captain for the Lady Panthers Varsity Softball team. ‘Let There Be Lights’ Weekend Of Events Start Friday

Kick off your Holiday’s with a series of events hosted by the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce. First, on Friday, downtown will light up with the lighting of the holiday tree in the Ellwood City Community plaza at 7:30 p.m. as part of Ellwood City’s Light Up Night. In keeping with a recent annual tradition, the Ellwood City winter sports student-athletes will be a part of a ‘Meet The Wolverines’ night at Lincoln High School large gymnasium. $500,000 Grant Awarded For Construction In Stonecrest Business Park

Among six Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grants awarded in the tri-county area includes a half-a-million dollar grant to construct flex space in an industrial building located in New Beaver Borough’s Stonecrest Business Park. In 2020, the Lawrence County Economic Development Corporation (LCEDC), in cooperation with Stonecrest Business Park (SBP), announced plans to begin to develop the former golf course into the Stonecrest Business Park.  Grants were awarded to turn the 58-year-old golf course into a business park with promises of bringing 1,000 jobs, according to officials who worked to attract the enterprise to the area with the proposed $7-million…

ECIAHF November Meeting Recap

Members of Ellwood City Italian American Heritage Foundation met on Friday November 18th at Hunter Bros Coffee at the Ellport Junction. President Barbara Mastropietro opened the meeting with the Prayer “To Send Forth.” World War II Veteran and Hero Sargent Guy Prestia led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. Secretarial and financial reports were given by Virginia Ottaviani and Cherlyn Rangel. Since the Cookie Bowl Explosion of 2022 was such a success the group entertained the possibility of a follow-up in 2023.
