According to information made available by the township, the Franklin Township Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 regarding a rezoning request.
The hearing will be related to a property owner who owns two parcels of property along Route 288 across from Creek Meadows and where the Mexican Restaurant used to be. The property owner would like the property rezoned from Commercial to R-2. According to the township, he plans to build 108 single-family homes in Franklin Township. The other rezoning will be for North Star Plaza which is currently zoned Industrial and should be Commercial.

Notice is hereby given that the Franklin Township Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing on February 21, 204 at 5:45 p.m. at the Franklin Township Municipal Bldg., 897 State Route 288, Fombell, PA, so as to receive public comment on the proposed Amendments to the following properties on the Township’s Zoning Map. The Board intends to consider the following Amendments to the Zoning Map:
- Parcel I.D. NO. 61-125-0232.00 – Route 288, 65.25 acres from Commercial, Retail, Sales, and Service District (C) to Medium Density Residential (R-2);
- Parcel I.D. No. 61-125-0235.000 Route 288, 28.643 acres from Commercial, Retail, Sales, and Service District (C) to Medium Density Residential (R-2);
- Parcel I.D. No. 61-104-0145.003 – 225 Route 288, Lot 2 Wolverine PL, 2.09 acres from Industrial District (I) to Commercial, Retail, Sales, and Service District (C).
The Franklin Township Board of Supervisors will consider adopting the Amendments at its regular meeting on February 21, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the Franklin Township Municipal Building, 897 State Route 288, Fombell, PA.
