Aaron Lake struck out 14 batters and allowed only one hit across six scoreless innings as Ellwood City defeated Central Valley 3-0 on Tuesday to improve to 3-0 on the young regular season.
Lake did not walk a batter and added an RBI single offensively for the Wolverines.
Ellwood City collected three runs in the bottom of the first inning to spark the offense. Jordan Keller, Lake, and Mikael Cuevas each collected RBIs in the opening frame.
Nate Kennedy tossed a scoreless inning of relief to earn the save for Ellwood City.

The Panthers picked up their first victory of the regular season with a 16-0 mercy-rule victory over Hickory on Tuesday.
Dylan Myer collected four hits to lead the Riverside offensive onslaught.
The Panthers (1-2 Overall) will next host West Allegheny on Thursday afternoon at 4:00 PM.
