The Wolverines remained unbeaten with victories over Shenango and Riverside this week. Ellwood City now holds a 12-0 record on the season.
On Thursday, Ellwood City defeated its rival Riverside 207-224 at Connoquenessing Country Club. Junior Jordan Keller went low, recording a match-low round of 37 to lead the Wolverines. Nate Kennedy scratched out a round of 40 and Gino Biondi added a round of 42 while Andy Lin and Jaxon Rozanski each finished with a round of 44 for the victors. Drake Fox finished with a team-low round of 38 for Riverside.
On Tuesday, the Wolverines knocked off Shenango 222-237 with Nate Kennedy posting a team low round of 42 to pace the unbeaten Wolverines.
Ellwood City boys golf team (12-0 Overall, 9-0 Section) next will host Neshannock on September 9th at Delmar Golf Course.
GIRLS TENNIS:
Ellwood City Girls Tennis Team split two matches this week. After suffering a setback at the hands of Lincoln Park on Tuesday, the Lady Wolverines knocked off Central Valley on Thursday at Ewing Park.
Mia Meredith collected a singles victory (7-5, 6-1) and the Wolverines swept the doubles matches to earn its first victory of the season. Meredith McCommons & Olivia Parson (7-5, 1-6, 6-2) and Sophia Angew and Kiley LeViere (6-0, 6-1) earned the doubles victories for Ellwood City.
The Ellwood City girls tennis team next will participate in the MAC Championships on Friday.
VOLLEYBALL:
Ellwood City Girls Volleyball Team knocked off Riverside in straight sets (3-0) on Tuesday and was defeaeted by Neshannock (3-2) on Thursday. The volleyball team (3-2 Overall, 1-1 Section) will next travel to participate in a Moon Tournament on Saturday.
