Former Riverside golf standout and upcoming senior at Tiffin University, Justin Hand, was among three Dragon golfers to have earned GCAA All-America Scholar honors according to a press release from the university. Justin Hand, David Siegel, and Matt Flynn earned the distinction with their academic performance in 2022-23. A total of 214 golfers earned the distinction nationally from 80 schools. Riverside golfer Reece Pilarski has qualified for the WPIAL 2A Boys’ Individual Golf Championship after firing a round of 86 on Monday to advance. The Panther senior finished with a a round of (44-42. +16) on Monday at the Par-70 Hannastown Golf Club in Greensburg, PA. Pilarski collected four pars on the afternoon. Riverside senior Logan Greer was among the 18 golfers who qualified for PIAA Championships after his fifth place finish at the par-70 Allegheny Country Club in Sewickley, PA, during the WPIAL AA Boys Individual Final & PIAA Qualifier event. Greer fired an 8-over round of 78 (40-38) on the afternoon. Steady on the front nine with four pars and only five bogies, Greer collected his only birdie of his round with a three on the par-4 17th hole. Riverside senior and golf standout Justin Hand signed his NCAA National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, November 13th to play collegiate golf at Tiffin University in Ohio. Hand played well and qualified for the PIAA Western Regional golf finals in September and also participated in the 2019 US Junior Amateur Championship in July. Skyler Fox Wins PIAA Class 2A Golf Championship

Riverside senior Skyler Fox has won the 2019 PIAA Class 2A Golf Championship held at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York, PA this week. Fox fired a 1-over round of 72 on the second day of the tournament, separating himself from the field in winning by three strokes. Fox, who shared the first-round lead with Elijah Ruppert of Brandywine Heights and Cam Colbert of Hickory, collected two second-round birdies Tuesday en route to a 144 two-round total (72-72).  A shotgun start placed Fox off the back-nine to begin play and, after a slow start, played one-under on the front nine…


Riverside Boys Golf Team Advances To WPIAL Team Finals

The Riverside Boys Golf Team advanced to the 2019 WPIAL Class-AA Team Finals after posting a team score of 430 on Tuesday at Beaver Valley Golf Club. Skyler Fox fired a round of 72 (32-40) to lead the Panthers while fellow senior Justin Hand finished with a round of 75 for the Panthers. Ethan Ilarski (95), Logan Greer (88), and Liam Grinner (100) also contributed to the team’s total. It has been a special two days for the Riverside Golf team. First, on Tuesday both Justin Hand and Skyler Fox individually qualified for the WPIAL Individual Finals. And more recently, on Wednesday at the Midwestern Athletic Conference (MAC) boys golf championship, Fox took home the Championship after carding a 4-under round of 68 at the aptly named Fox Run Golf Course in Beaver Falls. Riverside’s Hand Finishes Strong In Opening Round at US Junior Amateur Championship

Riverside’s Justin Hand posted an opening-round 76 (+5) on Monday in the 72nd U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at historic Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. After struggling on the front nine of the round, including posting a triple-bogey, Hand settled down and fired a two-under 34 on the back-nine to level out to his first-round 76. The round sets him tied for 64th place out of 156 golfers.
